Why couldn't the X-forged iron have the same cavity as the UT? I really dislike how the area on the irons where X-Forged is flattened out. I like the look of the UT better - the continuous little ridges with X-Forged over the ridges.

Callaway always seems to do one or two things aesthetically on their clubs that leaves me shaking my head. Cleveland used to do the same crap. Its as if they look at the club and say "this looks really, really, good.......how can we screw that up just a bit?"

The UT is hollow and they can thin the face. The X-Forged is one piece and my guess is they were trying to maximize perimeter weighting by taking material out of the middle.

I wonder if they will have those different Tour sets like earlier X-forged ie.... 2Dot, 4Dot, H, and L. It seems the Tour players get all those choices, wonder if they are already being used now on different Tours.

Let's see if these intrigue/ impress Phil enough for him to switch from the 2013s.

If I'm not mistaken, he had the new x forged in his bag this week

Ironically, I watched him tee off on 17 today and when he was posing I saw he was indeed using either a 2017 X-forged CB or their new MB with the same aesthetics (it looked more blade -like then the CB).

He used an Apex UT as a 3 iron and plays Apex Pros. Nothing x forged or new UT in his bag

Phil hasn't used the Apex Pros in a very long time. Most of this year he's been using the X-Forged '13 so it would make sense that he might have converted to the newest iterations. Also, he's been using the Epic Pro as a driving iron since those came out, not the Apex UT.

That said, I may be mistaken on the iron I saw... it very well might still be his 2013 X-forged (They are similar looking and the camera was not exactly focused on the iron head like if a WRXER was behind the lens.

Sorry for the poor quality but these are lo-res snap shots off a TV, zoomed way in. So, just to clear it up......here is a still shot (and close up) of one of Phil's short irons from Sunday's final round. I saw the whole set a couple mores times during the broadcast, but this was the clearest shot I could get when stopping my DVR recording and moving frame by frame. Definitely, the new '13 X-forged.......and in the CB version.

This was a short iron......I believe it was a wedge, from what the commentators said, but not 100% sure. It obviously has a lot of loft. That said, the set was definitely all CB's from what I could see.

Haha my bad guys. I thought I read Marc Leishman so I was commenting on that assumption.

OK, they're now "Tour Validated" by the man himself in the Fed EX Cup playoff's. I think its time to make these available to the people, really soon! My credit card is on standby.

+1.......C'mon "Uncle Harry" (@HarryArnettCG) chime in and give us something concrete to look forward to. You know.....when, where, how much??? This is the obvious community that will be slurping the X-Forged Kool-Aid.

I think they are coming in November?! I could have sworn JD'S Clubs (a VERY reputable sourcing I might add), posted on his Instagram. Thought I saw a November release?.....

Hopefully sooner, but you're right, they are reputable; November seems like an eternity, but I'll wait impatiently.

Yes 8-PW

Did he have the new MBs in the short irons in play?

Ummm no.

Read Hifade's post with the picture of Phil. All CBs. (Has been using an Epic in the long irons).

To me this is very similar line up to what Titleist has done--- MB, CB, TMB, AP2, AP3, AP1 with Callaway, it is Apex MB, X Forged, Apex Pro, Apex, SH Pro, SH, XR/BB OS. Titleist just doesn't offer the SGI club.

This appeals to all level of golfers and gives the better player even more options overall. I like the plan on the releases. Apex Pro and Apex still sell extremely well and will be at the end of the 2 year cycle in 2018.

Actually, the 2 year cycle is up on them in October 2017, I think. But they are going to stretch it out a little.
