I would love to see a Picture interpretation of Vapor Speed or Fly. Also, curious if Black dot will be standard or will Ping release than as blue dot.

the theory behind them releasing the iblades/i200 in blue and gmax in yellow was that it was the most common color code of custom orders for the Karsten line and i25/s56 lines. My belief is the thought was that to save the custom order period they could release "stock" irons in that color code and they would be a fit for the guy or gal coming in off the street to purchase..... Black is still PING Standard lie angle.

G700 will be the GMax replacement, debuting at the PGA Show along with a new Glide Wedge named the 2.0 Stealth... cast carbon steel with a black finish.

anything else coming besides those ..?

I think they will release a 460 G400 driver but don't know specifics.

Anyone know if that 460 version will be SGI? Like offset and draw bias?

I don’t get why they didn’t make the LST 440 and the standard G400 and SFT 460

Why would they if they could make 440 more forgiving than the G, while using the smaller size to make it faster. Everyone else is selling unicorn dust, but Ping found an actual way to hit it farther, increase clubhead speed.

If the new head is 460 (which I am guessing it will be) it will produce slightly slower clubhead speed in order to gain even more forgiveness..

Not everyone is a tour pro or a +2 handicapper. Most people need all the forgiveness they can get. I’m off 8 and want every bit of forgiveness possible, happily give up 5 yards for 1-2 more fairways hit.

Anyone seen info on new Ping irons called COLTS? Saw some listings of new clubs and there was nothing about G700 but there was an iron set called Colt.

Also looks like the new Vault 2.0 Putters will include, Dalehead, Piper, B60, ZB and Ketsch.

G400 Max looks like 10.5 degree is max loft.

Ping G20 23° & 27° TFC 169H

The New Vault Ketsch is the same as the PLD2 Camo, but without the camo finish.

There was a rumor in early summer about a new iron between the iBlade and i200 for February/March timeframe. No mention of G Max replacement, supposedly their hollow body distance design, smaller than i200 with players shape but bigger than iBlade. I think the reps are supposed to see pictures this month.

JMHO , seems a stick between those two irons is really picking hairs.

  • 2 weeks later...

No news; but the pro at our club is fired up for them ... and I have never seen him fired up about anything ever before. Friend was looking at AP3 and G400 irons; told him to wait for these to come out. The pro told him that they looked more like players irons but packed with forgiveness FWIW.

sounds interesting

anyone know when we can expect iblade replacement ?

Ping is on an 18 mo cycle, but for their players iron. The S55 had an extended run and is still extremely popular.

A poster on Golfwrx that is somehow wired into Ping suggested the next players iteration could evolve back towards the S55 look, but with an updated cpt and hydro pearl finish.

Aren't the i200s basically the S55 look?

I'll tell you this, no LST 460 and no SFT 460 will be coming.

Any news? Anyone seen them ? Size comparison to G400 and I 200

at address nothing like i200, they're completely like G400, think a "trimmed down Crossover" and made into a full set. they have a screw in the toe like the Crossover. and to end speculation there is no "foam" inside the heads. they could be great on there own, or even replacing long iron or two in combo with G400 irons. it's gonna be definitely worth a demo. :good:

Didn’t ping buy lot if Nike patents ? I wonder if they are filled with RZN just like the vapor fly Irons - which were/are filled SGI

The long irons in the Vapor Pro Combos also were filled with RZN, and the VPC is a players iron. And a great one at that.

Seems odd to release a G400 Max driver that it’s highest loft is 10.5. Would be aimed at high handicappers with a few of those looking for a higher loft in their driver. It must be very high launch

According to PING, the G400 Max will play a degree and a half more than stated. So the 10.5 is equivalent to a 12 degree loft.

It’s launch conditions mean it plays 1.5 higher? Or it’s the old Ping trick of the real loft being higher than what the club says?

Any other news on it? Similar style to the G400?

I'm not sure on how or why it plays 1.5 degrees higher. Haven't seen it in the flesh yet. Just presentation slides. It is a larger head, and the added volume is all at the back of the hard, making it larger front to back than the current G400s.
