Maltby DBM/MMB/TE Forged Question

Meaning pw to 8i is more forgiving in the d or it 4i to 8i to D.

GW-8i in the TE/DBM would be slightly more forgiving for most,....because the MMB's are a straight muscle back in those.

With that said, what's a more important detail for most, is which COG (sweetspot) height is a better fit....lower in the TE/DBM or higher in the MMB

So close to pulling the trigger on these. But not settled on a grip yet and i also wanna see the design of the new head theyre releasing in 2018 when does there catalogue normally come out

Anyone with any insight to next generation?

Word out of Brit is that they have tested extremely well will have some forgiveness built in and be available in the DBM finish.

He said the feed back on these has been as good as any iron they have ever done.

So take it with a grain of salt but I see no reason why they won't be fantastic.

Yah awesome lol.

So these guys here have persuaded me into the MMB over DBM. But i still may wait to see this new head.

Im still not sure if im gonna do modus 125x straight in or soft stepped.

The same as Henrik Stenson.

Henrik plays the modus 120 TX. Not the 125

Yes I forgot the extra 5 gms. Virtually little difference between the two in feel and bend profile. Keep in shape to use those. :taunt:

Huge difference in weight and bend profile.

The 120tx is avout 121gr with a soft butt firm mid and stiff tip

The 125x is 129.5grams with a smooth profile of firm stiff stiff. The 125x is almost identical to a spb profile similar to an x100.

Not sure what shafts youre thinking about there. But the shaft similar to the 125 is the 105 theres nothing on the market very similar to a 120. Even the 130 is kinda unique.

According to Britt from the Maltby forum, they will have the new form forged iron (I think 8620 carbon) out in early 2018. It is called the "PTM", and he also said that it will appear in their first catalog of 2018. Also he went on to say that they are working on two more forgings that will be late spring at best and most likely midyear products. A new driver, hybrid, and a couple new lines of putters including a new Pure Track. Should be an interesting year for Golfworks/Maltby equipment.

I really can decide what shaft to get with these. The Xcalbibers aren’t an option anymore. Currently play CFS R hard stepped twice in my i20. Would love for some steel fibers but they cost more than the heads themselves.

I haven’t been able to try any other recoils than the ones available with the CF16.

Maybe I go back with steel but wanted something better for my tennis elbow.

Aren't there shaft inserts that help with tennis elbow? You might want to call Mark Masters at Golfworks. I have called him a few times when purchasing wedge clubpaks and he is great to deal with.

I've seen at least two references to improved health and the introduction of new products in the near future. I'm hoping as I'm a fan of the product.

He took a break and lost distribution through Golfworks but 2018 will be a big year for Xcaliber in product launch. Keep an ear out.

Good to hear. Been wanting some i200 or P790 but wanted to try my 7i DBE with xcaliber shafts first. Had it for over a years and never really tried it out. I’m all for a budget set of I love the feel and performance. I already love the look.

I think i will buy a 7i MMB to compare to my 7i DBM to see just how forgiving the MMB is.
