Somehow managing to golf every day while maintaining a 32 hrs/week job and 3 classes(Summer semester means classes are 2 hours and 45 mins each)

Never felt better in my life although I'm tired.

Handicap has dropped and now I'm almost scratch.. in 2 months I think I will be. Shot a -1 on a 7100 yard course the other day from the tips!!!

Driving distance average yesterday from 50 drives was a carry of 271 and overall distance of 297 with a long of 331.

Also got my Srixon 2 iron in from the mail and bombed it 265 consistently.. Looks like I found my 5 wood replacement :)

Life is good! Can't wait to see how far this game takes me.

Hit the longest drive I've ever hit on the course last sunday (maybe ever) Hole was 447 from the Blue tees where we were playing from, I layed into one and it went almost dead straight maybe a 2 yard fade, landed, bounced big and rolled out to past the 150 marker. So of course my buddy says they must have the yardages wrong, marker wrong place ect. cause I've never hit a drive like that.

Finally beginning to cure a life long slice haha, so now I either get the dead straight up the left side and kind low, or these big perfect 2-3 yard fades and man I've been enjoying it! Makes a long par 4 like that a lot easier when you can hit an soft 8 iron in versus a hybrid/3 wood from the right rough.

I normally wouldn't do this, but I really can't contain my excitement. I'm a normal dude...full-time job, range maybe twice a week, don't really get to "work" on my game that much. But over the past couple weeks I've implemented a small swing change to try to get my contact more consistent. Had my first tournament post-change today and...lowest score ever! 31-32-63, -9. Ballstriking was off the charts. Previous low score was -4. I may never see 63 again, but if I don't, damn that was fun.

Dang...forgot to post probably the most important part (to me): It was my first bogey-free round.

It seems to me if you shoot nine under par, you're allowed to post about it. Especially in a thread titled "brag on yourself thread," even if you're not the type to normally do that. :pimp:

Started off on the front nine with a frustrating 45, but turned it around completely with a 34 on the back for a redeeming 79 (par 71). I also marked one career golf goal off the list with finally getting a turkey. Plus it happened in sequence on holes with a par 3, par 4, and then par 5.

Nice turn around comeback! I usually do it the other way with a near record front and a blow-up back :(

Well being 63, retired, and rather large (6'3") and overweight by about 30 lbs. I was pleasantly surprised when I went to a recent fitting and was swinging a club as well as I did. 104-105 average with driver, 88-89 7 iron. That was after hitting 80+ balls and getting tired.

For an old(er) guy, that ain't too bad. So yea, I'll brag on myself a bit. Because it won't last much longer. :D

Well shot my best ever 9 hole score last night, 40, with 6 pars, 2 doubles and a triple. Most consistent ball striking I've ever had, one shot into the bunker cost me as it took 2 shots to get out, and 1 lost ball on the 7th. Drove the ball very well, and had some dialled approach shots and tee shots on the par 3s. Just a couple things in my swing I focused on and it had great results.

My playing partner of course played poorly and took an attitude the whole time, saying things like "with how many youtube videos ya watch ya better have figured it out" basically made me to feel bad for playing well, so thought I could share here to a more supporting crowd. Starting to get the hang of it!

I switched to playing a super short (5900 yards from the blues) but super unforgiving course compared to my old Wyoming course. Two weeks ago I shot 100 with 6 OB and 4 in the water. Last weekend I played the same course and shot a smooth 90 with 2 OB and 2 in the water. Making progress!

I played golf a few times as a kid and a few times in college. I was terrible. Injured my back, never could play again until I finally got the injury fixed in 2014. Decided to give golf one more try in my 40s, and in four years I'm shooting in the 70s or low 80s pretty much everywhere I play. I've had three lessons, the rest has been self videos on the deck at night and comparing it to various pros' swings. I don't go to the range except to warm up if I have time and I don't practice putting or short game except in the living room on a whim occasionally. After going all of 2017 without an eagle, I've had four this year including an ace. And my wife is ten years younger than me and pretty hot and graduated near the top of her class from Harvard. This from a guy who's pretty skinny and funny-looking and doesn't make much money.
