New kind of Rain/Winter Pant

as someone who does a lot of wintersports, i was never really satisfied with the golf rainpants, that i'm also wearing during the colder days. i always think, that the pants that are out there, could be done way better. so in the last couple of years, i've thought that maybe i can do a better pant.

 

what you you like to be featured in a rain/winter pant? what are you missing? what disturbes you? what do you like?

Totally agree. Typical rain pants can get too hot, look dumb and cost too much. Lots of room for improvement on all fronts.

I like the kind with the removable fleece shell underneath. Basically two pants in one, winter and/or rain pants. I also like for the material to be quiet. Some rain pants are very loud when you move.

Short Fat guy here. That is the reason I don't own a nice (expensive) pair of rain/winter pants. I know they will drag the ground or have too wide of a hole where they meet the golf shoe and get stepped on. I have even considered getting a pair specially tailored so I could have a good pair to wear. Even when I was in good shape I struggled to find ones that weren't too long. Especially in winter when I need to wear layers underneath, I would have to buy a larger size for layering and thus getting even longer ones.

Just went to the site and only see 2 different pants and each one has 3-4 sizes available...

Living in AZ not a ton of experience with cold and rain, but pants I have been impressed with off the golf course and would wear them on course if needed is hiking pants, Built to move and stretch a lot on the trails and have a DWR water resistant finish to them plus retain breathability. The North Face, REI, Prana, good brands to look at. Great pants for 50-70 degree weather(or colder for those used to the cold) and light to medium rain. Only downside is most are cargo style but there are plenty without cargo style pockets.

I had a friend who had a Patagonia Rain Suit (not made for golf) and looked great, and worked better than any other golf rain suit.
