Does the quality of your clubs eclipse the quality of your swing/game?

BTW old buddy you stole those 20ths for $80--- I did a trade deal a couple of years ago and ended up with a set of Muirfields but they are not 20th editions. The Scotty in my signature came off the junk pile no joke. Rusty and battered I cleaned it up some and had to add lead tape anyhow to the sole which is badly pitted. Around the beach it is known as "The Rusty SOB Scotty" or "the junk yard dog Scotty" The 2013 Callys in my signature indirectly came off the pile so to speak-- I traded a set of Toney Penna blades and a set of 59 Mac Fc-4000s for them that you guessed it came off the pile. Everything in that bag I traded or bartered for with stuff from off the pile. the guy that I talked about in a previous post that calls my clubs "junkyard refugees" offered me $200 for "Rusty" not because he wanted to putt with it but because I have jammed in so many putts on him with it. Like I said money does not matter to him he is retired and a multi millionaire. He wanted to melt it down. Of course he was joking and is really a good guy

I was happy with the buy, but you've rescued some pretty amazing stuff from the junkyard. I didn't realize the Calllaway X Forged in your signature came from there as well.

Who throws stuff like this away?

Haha thats a good one.

I use the affordable premium balls. I'll never turn down a box of Pro V1's if I get them for a present, but if I'm out buying balls I look in the 30 dollar urethane range.

I have a buddy who only played Pro V1 as a 14 cap. I remember the day he switched off Pro V1's I was laughing so hard. He had to buy another sleeve at the turn and just said " **** this!" and bought a sleeve of Titleist NXT's. His score didnt suffer, his distance and putting didnt go down the tubes. He just saved 7 bucks or whatever every time he goes out and has a bad round.

I usually save provs for special occasions , does that sound weird .

No the 2013 X forged did not come directly from there but I traded stuff that came from there for the X-forged. What happens here is sorta sad but a fact of life. Some retiree club ho passes away and the family is in a hurry to sell the house and get grand ma out and back up north. Usually if they know anything about golf at all they think some of this stuff is antique junk. They do one of several things give it to Goodwill take it to one of the green boxes in the county or sell it to us. We are on contract from the county so we get all the metal dumpsters. If the stuff does not sell at GW after a while it is scrapped and we are on contract for that too. I know maybe 3 or 4 people on the beach that even mess with the old stuff. One is my running partner Bear. One haul last year I found 18 various model of Wilson Staff wedges everything from a FG-51 to several JP2s. A week later I found 3 full sets of beautiful Izett woods and 2 Toney Penna Drivers.
