You make it sound like I'm dying. I'm sure I'll sneak out from time-to-time for the rest of the year after my daughter arrives, if for no other reason than to maintain my sanity. But it will be limited and probably either scheduled way in advance or me running out the door and playing something close to home or on the way home from campus when I go back to work in October.

My advice..as someone who had kids at 38..Pick a day..any day, but Friday is best. That is your day to golf. Let wife pick a day, if she wants, to do whatever. That way you both know ahead of time that for 3-5 hours the other will be gone and that's your alone time. Worked for me most of the time.

Now I'm off to golf in my old man league ...

Make any money last night, Paul?

Played my first full round at Sarah Shank today... 3.5" of rain last night rendered it path only. I prefer Pleasant Run.

Welcome aboard. I think I talked to you over on FB in the GCT group. I will play Sagamore anytime our schedules match up! We have a good group here too that gets out all over the place whenever we can if you ever want to jump in.

Looking forward to Buffer Park on Thursday. Definitely looks interesting in the pics and online reviews.

Going to try to play some courses I haven't played before inside 465 this week just in case the stork visits while the wife is working downtown... Shank, Riverside, Coffin, South Grove, and Buffer. Anyone wants to join me, let me know!

Played Ackerman yesterday morning but only got through 6 on Kampen in the afternoon when the storms hit.

#1 green at Ackerman had balls seemingly fall up hill. Strange. My putting confidence took a hit right from the start.

Kampen greens were all pocked up from unfixed or incorrectly fixed ball marks.

My Kampen rain check will be burning a hole in my pocket.

So far Shank was ok. South Grove was uninspiring, but Coffin... yikes, what a dump. 2nd worst course I've played in Indiana (cough Yule cough). I've seen abandoned houses with less crab grass in the yard than Coffin had everywhere - tees, rough, "Fairway", etc. Add to that the 1/2grass, half dirt greens and yeah, it belongs 6 feet under.

Riverside had fake tombstones out front regarding its demise when I drove by to see how busy it was. I may or may not play it over the next few days.

If they're keeping Coffin open, I can kind of see why as there were some interesting holes, design-wise... but they have a lot of work to do and it won't be cheap to get it to playable condition.

Buffer park is decent. Coffin is a good layout depending on condition. Hope things are well.

Coffin probably is the best layout and piece of ground, but given its condition over the past 5 years I figured they might put the money into Riverside instead. Coffin floods pretty badly at least once every other year. To be fair, Riverside can flood some as well. Hopefully the decision to focus funds on at Coffin will return it to playable conditions, and maybe even turn the Riverside par 3 (which I believe is also being kept) into a better venue as well.

Played buffer park today. Solid lay out with a nice variety of holes. I enjoyed the parkland layout and solid par 3s. The 6th hole is gorgeous with a nice pond in front of the green. Course was nice decent shape with a little water damage. For the money I’ll be back soon!

The Riverside Par 3 is acutally pretty fun. There are some cool little holes on that course. I spent most of my adult life on the west side of indy and played Coffin a lot early in my golf career. Its a great layout but condition could be sketchy. I havent played it in about 3 years and sounds like from what people are saying condition is not great. There are some really challenging holes on that course too.

Hey All, I am Tyler. I am new to GolfWRX. Recently found this site and thought it would be a cool community to join and chat with. I live in the McCordsville area of Indy and am always looking for new friends to play golf with. I try to play once or twice a month through the spring and summer and love to travel to play. If you guys have any meet-ups or group outtings, let me know. I can try to squeeze out and play and meet some of you!

Welcome aboard, Tyler. We have a pretty good group that intermixes to play when we can. You can post here when you think you can get out and I'd bet one/more of us would be available.

As for me, I should be off the night shift with the baby soon. The itch needs scratched. At least I'm sleeping through a lot of the beautiful weather during the day.
