Today is the first day of Indy GC closures... so the Indy golfers can play in outlying communities. Sigh...

Some staff are laid off yet coming back as volunteers to mow.

IMO, some courses soc dist policies, or lack of, screwed the rest.

Sorry, but I'm not understanding these closings if folks are setting up their tee times online and walking.

Were the city courses so busy before they shut down that they were leading to logjams on the course, in which people were not social distancing? Dumb if so, but there is a lot of dumb going on that I can see out my house window in my neighborhood. The walking only rule most places have make sense. Many of us would only be nearish to one another on the tee the entire round (not even every green - ha!).

I've been fortunate the last few weeks and have played The Legends and Martinsville twice each. Plus I'm playing The Links tomorrow. I might try to play again Friday if I can get the chance.

Martinsville's facebook page has been all drama the last couple days. Apparently a group held up the whole course, got kicked off, and cried about it online because the owner dropped the F-bomb on them.

Legends is my home track. I am going to try to get there for the first time time year. I've yet to play Martinsville, but this is all the more reason to get out there!

Played a total of two times in the last month and a halfish. Played Tri County last Sunday..decent shape and flags are pulled. Played Winding Branch over by me the day before they where shut down. It's greens and fairways are pretty rough. Also tried to take my son to Hartley Hills on Monday but, we couldn't ride together sooo that was a bust. They can't let anyone ride two to a cart..in able to stay open...understandable as they need to abide by the health dept. guidelines to stay open.

I could be wrong but Martinsville might allow 2 per cart. I'm seriously not trying to add to their drama.

 

Played Blackford a few times recently. New owner. Some improvements already made.

Yes at Martinsville you can ride 2 to a cart but they have restrictions on who can ride together. Or at least that’s how they explained it to me when I played there Saturday.

Going to try to play Monday if anyone is interested. I have group golf deals to burn at Hylands (among other places), but could go elsewhere.

 

Haven't swung a club since March 4, so it could be entertaining.

Like to but Monday is out. Definitely call for tee time at RH or anywhere. They have been packed. Called Friday but they were full.

I too have some vouchers to use.. like 11 of them.

Doc, I'd love to but am an hour away from RH and couldn't get out of here until around 3:30.

Could possibly break free at 3 on Friday. Paul? Anyone else?

Friday is possible, depends how stuff develops over the week.

Hope everyone is doing well. I can play Friday afternoon if you guys have room for me. As Paul said above, make sure to call for a tee time. I tried to go to the Links last Friday around 2:30. I've never had to call there before, but I should have this time. It was absolutely packed with several groups waiting on #1.

I've played Arrowhead a few times to knock the rust off. It's in better condition than I remember. They also lost a huge tree during the storms a couple weeks ago that guarded the right-front of #11 green.

I'm probably stuck on a TEAMS meeting until 3 so I couldn't get to RH until 4. Sat is out.

I'll play absolutely anywhere. Would be happy to buy one of those GolfNow coupons from you guys and play those courses if that helps.

I'll just be happy to golf again with you jerks.
