Artisan Golf Wedges- Mike Taylor and the old "Oven" crew that made Tiger's clubs

Not a lot for a car. A ton if it's a chocolate bar.

It's all relative. People aren't used to paying $875 for a putter. It's almost three times more than a premium Scotty.

Sir, a premium Scotty is $2,500 to 5,000, so to your point it's all relative. Dare I say $875 is relatively cheap compared to a premium Scotty? I bet you could trick out a Toulon in the garage to the point where after taxes and shipping it would cost around the $875 range. The very best stuff in golf is expensive, we all know this. No need to make a big deal about. In fact for someone who has been making Tiger Woods clubs for years to offer a Putter to the public for less than 1k is an amazing deal. Master craftsmanship comes at a price and hopefully it pays for itself at the end of the day

Got it,, expensive = best....

Expensive = quality( at least we hope so)... Expensive might not help your game a lick though and some people are better off with old set of clubs they found on eBay. But if we are talking about the best courses in the world and if you looked at what they spend to keep those courses in top notch shape and what that does to membership dues and green fees. It gets expensive quick. I mean a brand new trackman costs 25k and the pro operating the trackman if he's any good is $150-$250 an hour and that's not even a lot for the big boy instructors. So from what we heard on pricing so far for these top notch custom clubs built by a legend in his field it Doesn't seem so bad

So far the putter pics are doing nothing for me. I'm sure I'll be in the minority here, but that's just my honest opinion. Their just not looking soft enough, just too Machine looking to me and I've never that look. Who knows maybe they will evolve into different models that may suit my eye. Now those wedges mike made for RA look SWEET!

I agree. I’ve never liked the Machine look. From a business stand point it is a smaller market going that direction though. Can’t think of a lot of putter makers that specialize in that look.

Yeah the wedges really have piqued my interest.

As for the flatstick, barring some revolutionary change in regards to CG placement I can’t see me shelling out $875 for that putter but that’s me. That’s my initial impression but if it feels as good as they claim I might could be persuaded to grab a carbon head

I believe most of the putter will have a slightly higher toe. I have a few Circle T/Tour Only Scotties that have a higher toe.

I have to agree. I sent Mike (who will send to John) my mock up of what I would want if they can add me to the first run. I of course only will do this if I pay for the putter. But I asked for the Ping Anser type with a softening of the bumpers, 3 sight lines, in that black finish and a plumbers neck.

The 009's have a soft bumper look and David Franklin could pencil grind them down sweet.

My mock up...

I have to agree as well, they have a sort of "bespoke" look to them. Not sure how to else to describe it. They look very handmade, just sort of rough or something. I don't know. But hey, I'm sure they will have different styles and finishes.

So what's the plate in the cavity? I'm guessing titanium or something? Aluminum? And then more weight allocated to the bumpers or sole weights?

I completely agree. I like the more rounded toe and heel and even the top line ie.... Anser, roll top 009 that type of look. Seems like we're seeing putters through similar lens. Yes, I particularly really liked the 006 that David Franklin made for Tai. If they have that spec on file, I'd pretty much go with that design. Maybe a few tweaks but nothing drastic. To me it's fairly simple yet, elegant. Especially in a carbon black finish or get 2 one in carbon the other in SSS/GSS. lol

I'm starting to agree with you guys. I have a 0117 on order and may ask to soften the bumpers and top line. Love the finish, milling and tri-sole but may have to many sharp edges.

Tungsten inside the cavity. Saw a slant neck yesterday...wow it looked good

That neck looks like the same design as the Nike Method Origin putters (more rounded/flowing features instead of distinct/square lines)

Now that neck and head look great. Love that look. Hopefully 2k isn't the price. Haha

So tungsten in the cavity? More weight in the cavity? What's the idea there, to raise the COG?

2k is the followers they reached on Instagram, not price.

Love the tungsten in cavity idea. Probably similar to the Machine putter that raised the CG.

Lowers the CG. The CG is in the dead nut middle of the face. Doesn't affect moi much because the weight is not being taken out of the heel and the toe. It is being taken out of the hosel.

How is it taking weight out of the hosel?

Maybe I should’ve been more clear. I think the machine putter I was speaking of was trying to put the center of gravity dead in the middle of the face. But I guess that only matters if that’s where you contact the ball. Every player is different to some extent I imagine

The hosel weighs less and isn't the same material as the rest of the putter. That weight is then moved behind the cavity and shifts the CG. Most putters have CG high and in the heel.
