ASK QUESTIONS: Tour Edge Golf!

Recommended Posts

We are proud to announce that we will have Tour Edge live in the forums answering all your questions on the new CBX fairway woods and hybrids, along with the rest of the product line! Make sure to join us on Wednesday, November 29th at 12pm ET/ 9am PT for the chat!

EVERYTHING ELSE FALLS SHORT!

When Tour Edge engineers introduced their first Exotics fairway wood, they created new benchmarks for distance and power in a fairway wood. With the CBX, Exotics has once again taken distance gains to another level to bring unprecedented power to your game.

Combo-brazing (a weldless process) a Beta Titanium cup face to a hypersteel body, the engine of the CBX fairway wood is this combination of superior multi-materials and construction. As a result of this precise engineering, the CBX is a spin-killing distance machine - and the proof is in the numbers. Independent testing proves the CBX fairway wood outdistances its most popular competitors an average of over 16 yards

Tour Edge has great fairway woods. Compared to the other models with the Titanium cup face(Beta for example), what is the difference in the CBX? Is it depth of the face? The video on the website makes it appear that the cup face wraps into the head. Does this mean more cup face than an EX10 Beta?

What performance differences should one expect between the new CBX hybrid and the CB Pro U model? Will one launch higher than the other in a given loft? Are the head sizes the same?

Thank you for taking the time to answering our questions! I have a few...

How does the CBX compare to the EX10 Beta in terms of launch and spin?

Most of your fairway woods have had glued hosels which many on here really like but you changed that up with the E8 Tour and EX9 line. What determines whether to introduce a new model with or without an adjustable hosel?

What was the reasoning to go away from the Slipstream sole? The CB Pros, EX9 and 10 lines have it but the CBX doesn't.

Will Tour Edge be incorporating carbon fiber in more areas of the club in future designs? Will we see a carbon crown, steel body, titanium faced fw?

Thanks again!

I still use a CB5 four wood and have had zero desire to look at other fairway woods - the CB5 is that good. How does the new CBX fairway compare to some of the older CB models that had such a following?

What the next step in getting these into more tour pro's hands?

There are quite a few we see every week from the spy pictures, but is there chance for even more expansion?

First off, thanks for coming in here to answer questions. Secondly, you guys make great products as I've had several of the fwy's & hybrids over the last 5 years. Still have a Xcg7 Beta 4 wood I'm holding on to.

1. Question concerning price point...is there a reason that you guys are a lot more then the big boys as far as pricing? I honestly feel like if you guys had same price or slightly cheaper there would be a TON of sales for you guys....I always wait and buy the next year or later when the prices are way more affordable. I know I would buy new if they were the same or better pricing then the big boys.

2. The cup face on the new Cbx fairway, what makes it superior to cup face tech that other manufacturers have?

Please continue making great products & thanks again for taking the time to answer questions.

Do the hybrids have the same tech as the fairway woods? And are they comparably as long as the FW woods (16 yards longer than the competition is the # mentioned above) ? I've played both driver and FW's before, but never gotten the opportunity to hit a hybrid.

Thanks for doing this for us!

Is the Trilogy / Xrail line finished or can we expect to see a new iteration?

Those are about the only line TEE has that has ever worked for me (slower swinger that needs launch).

Will the speed ramp sole design or any other technology on the CBX fairway and hybrid be replacing the slip stream sole on the next iterations of the EX10 (EX11, if there will be such a thing??) fairway/hybrid line? Much as I love the slip steam on my Beta 15*, that speed ramp looks killer.

With last year's EX9 Long, and now the XJ1 and EX10 Beta 3 woods, Tour Edge is one of the few manufacturers who still offers a 43.5" long 3-wood as a stock option. Why do you still do that when most other manufacturers don't (I have heard Cobra's F8 fairway will be 43.5 in length as well), and what are the pros/cons of playing a FW at the length?

You guys have some of the best stuff on the market for all handicaps. Keep it up!!

Thanks for answering some questions. I've been interested in your clubs but have never found them in a store to hit until recently.

Regarding your hybrids, you offer hybrids in 1 degree increments in a glued hosel. How do you ensure accuracy, or how tight do you anticipate tolerances being? Last thing I'd want is to buy a 16* hybrid and have it really be 17 or 18, when I could just buy those instead.

Thanks!

I have played no other fw metals since the CB1. I even had to switch from the 15 degree to a 16.5 in the CB1 because it was so much longer than any fw I'd ever hit. I currently rotate between a xcg5 and a cb5 depending on conditions. I'm also not a high spin player by any means so I'm a little concerned about this new "spin killer". Will the solution for me be to merely increase loft or will there also possibly be softer tipped shaft options to increase spin if I need it? I'm also wondering what advantages the speed ramp sole provides over the slip stream sole and if the inclusion of carbon to get more weight low and to the front was merely for spin killing or was it also to create a better sound/feel at impact rather than the explosive tink I've come to love?
