Help! Q about specs of Ping vs. Taylormade driver tips/adapters...

I am going to change the tips on some shafts from Taylormade M1/2 to Ping G400 series. Are they the same length as far as depth of insertion of the shaft into the tip/adapter? My primary concern is that there is no glue showing. Thanks!

Ping adapters have a shorter bore depth then TM so it's likely that some of the prep will be visible when switching from TM to Ping. It's purely a cosmetic issue though - will still work fine. But if you don't like the looks, a little bit of tip trim (~1/4") will fix it without any significant impact on how the shaft will perform.

one thing you might want to check on is the playing length change. If I remember correctly, the TM played roughly 1/3” longer for me. I had the same shaft reinstalled on g30 LS, Cobra Ltd and then m1/m2 and the club played noticeably longer in the TM and I had to cut off additional length although I’m not 100% certain the length. 1/4-1/2” though.

To follow up on this thread, does anyone know what the total length and the bore depth of a ping adapter is? Basically wondering if a shaft is 44.5 tip to grip with a ping adapter installed, what the total length of the shaft would be

If memory serves the bore depth is around 1-1/4" or a hair less. And the adapter extends beyond the shaft tip ~1/2".
