Does anybody miss the old Be Better Golf Youtube Show?

I was about to give him the benefit of the doubt but hearing he charges people to play with him is just ridiculous....he has 0 credentials and is a student, not an instructor. I liked his shows with Monte and Dana...very informative and answered some good normal questions but I can't event turn it on now....Plus it kinda drives me nuts when he does something else while the instructor was trying to talk...happened with Monte a lot....I personally would have slapped him lol. It's a bit of a shame, but he had a good thing going, but I think he is trying to make it more than what it is and losing site of what made it special.

I think you are missing the point. Jumping from teacher to teacher doesn't matter. Profiting from instructors generosity, then using their good name to promote his channel and keep the profits, that's where the problem lies.

That's part of the deal. He created a channel that drew in subscribers. The instructors knew he was filming them and going to put it on his channel. The instructors got paid for their services and got basically advertising of their services in the process. None of those instructors have 28,000 subscribers to their channel. In fact, they don't have 28,000 subscribers combined.

I don't believe any single one of the instructors has complaints about him.

Not trying to be a smart a**, but in regards to YouTube #'s, a quick search of 3 teachers off top of my head- Bobby Lopez, GG, and Monte have over 30k subscribers combined. Carry on...

Malaska Golf has 18K as of writing this and Monte is sitting at 15K, so agree with farva here.

Okay, you got me.

Combined they have more than 28K subscribers.

But they are still far short of 28K alone which is what Brendon has.

Are any of the teachers disgusted by Brendan? I'd like to hear it. Otherwise the arguments against him are basically built on a house of cards.

The videos he makes with top teachers are, in a sense, ads for those teachers, so they probably don't have too much of an issue with him. They've probably all seen various characters of dubious abilities trying to scramble together some kind of career before.

He's only had one top teacher on his channel, Malaska, he probably can't get anyone else.

I loved the early stuff with Monte and the local college kids. Also the Bobby Lopez stuff. He posted some Instagram stuff recently talking about intermittent fasting as a diet regimen. For him at 175 soaking wet, thats a joke.

He interviews Gandhi maybe I'll watch.

He’d probably try to charge Ghandi for the interview.

Whoa, some serious trolling there - plenty of known and excellent instructors have been on.

Brendan seems like a cool dude. He’s just trying to make a living. The problem is when you entrench yourself in this industry, especially the social media side..... you’re kinda forced to put on a show so to speak. He should do a craft beer review competitive match vlog combo series. I’d want in on that action.

I'm thinking Golf Digest top 50 guys.

To your point, I think Brendon has mentioned in the past that he's bringing on the most influential voices on the internet, so i guess he's not going after Mike Adams or a Michael Breed

I lost interest when he went with Luczak who claims he "has the golf swing figured out." if he has the magic method, why does Brendon still hit it all over the face? My guess is because he does exactly what he is being taught.

I think one of the problems with Brendon is that he chose Luczak because he was enamored with the long driver that Tony was working with. Brendon is obsessed with distance, probably goes back to a failing in his youth.

He also didn’t have 28,000 subscribers when those instructors were featured to be fair. He had a few (2-3000) thousand subs before going to George , Dana, and Monte. No doubt those instructors benefitted from that promotion, but Brendon’s channel grew exponentially from featuring those instructors. Funny enough, if you look at the videos with those instructors, the view counts are the highest on his channel.

He had videos other than the ones with Monte, GG and Malaska?

I must have missed them. Probably because I live by the mentality: if you cannot beat Cristo 7&6, you lack the requisite talent/knowledge to occupy my limited golf instruction time

Funny enough that long drive guy, Jeff Flagg, left Tony and now works with Lucas Wald. In a couple Wald videos you hear him say how messed up he came in and how he got him swinging better(in his opinion) and faster

It’s not unusual for a new teacher, with a differing approach, to think a new student, who left his old teacher, dissatisfied, to think that student is arriving somewhat messed up.

It's not my point, it was the whole point of his channel from the beginning.

He had Gankas and Dahlquist on there as well, and if you made a list there were quite a few.

Chuck Evans no slouch.

Not sure why you made the comment to start with given that was never his intent, not really a fair criticism.

Plenty of fair criticism out there. ;-)

you think someone married Bill Gates for his good looks and charm? Further down the spectrum, do you think someone married Jason Dufner or Pat Perez for their good looks and charm?

Charm isn't exactly the term I would use. They are generally the alpha dog in most rooms they go into. Men want to be like them. And they lead very interesting lives. That will attract most women to them.

It's not always about the money...in fact, it's far from it. It's a mental thing with the ladies, dude.
