Any Piretti Collectors/Connoisseurs out there??

I hate to rain on the parade but the value of that piece is definitely not 1,250. Pirettis do not hold value well at all. I've seen similar early proto heads go for 250-350. Tour putters a little bit higher.

 

Hell even a recent 801 putter was asking for $400 only, and that's only asking price. Retail on that was $1k+

 

That's my hesitation with collecting pirettis, I'll be taking a huge bath if it doesn't work out

 

I own 2 high dollar collectable Scotty's , that have spent their whole lives

in a closet, " not losing value "

 

This is why I enjoy playing the Pirettis , Custom putters made for my game ,

without worrying about how much I can resell them for later.

I agree...sadly Piretti's don't hold their value as much as they should IMO...having owned some high end SC CT's...Piretti's are at least on par if not better in every way...I have enjoyed every one I have owned.

 

With that said...I don't own golf clubs to put in the closet or put on a shelf to look at it...If I own them I game them!

not to add any value to the thread- being I don't have the excess funds to own one- but piretti has some of the coolest stamps on their pieces (seriously between the classy lions, pirates, and the smiley faces).

I never seen one in person but I love the way they look.. when I splurged and spent 340 on a putter I was afraid of losing money (I looked long at the stock Pirettis but didn't want to pay for something I had never hit before) if I regretted it so I bought a Scotty, felt like it was in excess purchase that I shouldn't own and still lost money lol

Thanks to everybody here for your support. Part of the reason the resale value has been low is that we have given big discounts to professionals and they sell them cheap. If we do make a professional a putter we will be putting their name or initials on it so they can't sell it. I'm working with Austin (leftygolfer15) to make sure we keep doing the right things so collecting isn't so risky. We want you guys to be happy with your purchases and will do whatever it takes to make that happen.

One of the best feeling putters I have ever used. In fact, a carbon tour cottonwood II is on the way to me now.

Never liked having to oil a putter but the feeling of this carbon is better than anything else GSS and Damascus included.

I love this Prototype Face balanced Matera you put out in 2014. Do you have any of the original face covers that rolled out with these laying around anywhere. Love you and Bills work and customer service is second to none.

I have 1 of 100. I know this post is old but if you're looking for an awesome Matera this one is badass. It looks pretty sweet and the story is awesome as well. From conversations with Bill (Piretti) this putter was produced as a prototype as the first face-balanced Matera. By his remarks Piretti intends to roll out a similar face balanced option this year. Let me know if you have any questions. It retailed at 950$ back in 2014.
