Miura Teasing 2018 Launches Coming Soon

EaglesGolf99

Recommended Posts

Miura is advertising 2018 Launches Coming Soon. Not just soft goods, hard goods included.

... I for one have heard of nothing new coming down the pike. I am a nobody, but still, I've heard nothing. No rumblings.

If the "2018 Launches" are the Hayate Driver and Fairway, the 1008, 2008, 5005, and the MGP-NM1 and MGP-M3 .... I'm going to be highly disappointed.

"Miura san is excited to bring you many new products in 2018[.]"

Any speculation out there?

I could not be less excited about what Miura has in the works.

I'll continue building my horde of NOS baby blades and 1957 wedges...

The brand has no direction.

Agreed.

They should just stick with players irons and wedges. Their woods and other clubs are meh.

1957 Putters we're sweet too, the new stuff, a big meh!

Raynor, give me a shout if you need any BB.

You are still a STUD!

They only need three or four models. When you have nearly perfected the form and grinds, why do you need to update them?

I'm still looking for a conforming set of CB-202s in good condition. They are very old for an OEM, but they are exactly what I want.

Stick to irons and wedges. A company as small as Miura will not be able to do the R&D to make top class woods.

Love the 202 ... I always have my eyes peeled for 301's and 202's.

Some of their recent releases, particularly woods, have been garish.

Sort of like a TM and Cobra wood did the nasty in the back of the golf cart.

I agree.. if you are known for making the purest irons in the game why depart that? I used to use the CB57's but have no interest in ever trying their woods, or for that matter putters. Wedges and irons is where I trust them most. PXG has taken a lot of interest away from what was generally a solid brand. True Spec have anything to do with it?

I agree that this is true, but I don't really understand the buyers who are making this move. From my perspective, Miura never really appealed to the game improvement crowd - and that's PXG's sweet spot. I suppose they did go after the "show off how much I spent" crowd, and PXG took that away pretty aggressively.

But from every rational angle (styling, performance characteristics, etc.) the two brands are almost polar opposites.

Just to confirm this statement, the Hayate driver is made by Geotech which is a Japanese component company. They make very high quality components but stamping Miura on it doesn't add any value other than a price increase.

All those clubs are already released and wouldn’t be considered 2018 release. I’ve seen the new blade head and it’s definitely a new product.

The Hayate knocked the Epic out of my bag, it was both longer and more accurate. Their woods can hold their own just fine.

That was kinda my point. They billed the CB1008 as a new release in June 2017 even though it was on the shelf in 2016. I've seen multiple spots where 2018 releases as being hyped. It would be a severe let down if what was released in 2017 was the 2018 release.

The 5005mb, cb 1008 and 2008 weren’t US releases in 2016. So it WAS a new release in 2017 in the US.

So you are going to try and tell me what I saw with my own eyes in 2016 wasn't really there? I didn't mention the 5005 nor the 2008. I mentioned the 1008. And the 1008 was available IN THE US in 2016.

Open it in Chrome if you want it translated, but basically it says that Japan will see limited release of 2018 US Collection and it's going to be baby blades, CB-501, and wedges? I don't follow Miura that much. Were these discontinued until now?

The MG line was the Asian line. Could you get it in the US? Yes. I wouldn’t consider it released in the US. You can argue if you want but you’re massively missing the point, the new head I saw isn’t in the current lineup.

What was released iron wise in 2017 besides the clubs I listed above?

Trying to wrap my head around a boutique Asian brand making a limited edition for US Distribution, then offering a limited run or that limited run in their own market. Next the Small Blade will boomerang back to the US as a limited edition of a limited edition of a limited edition of a boutique brand...

That's what I'm not understanding.

It's almost like the blow out of the old stuff over this past year wasn't enough to kill inventory. "Ok, we've sold all the Baby Blades we can sell in the US at reduced rates. Let's repaint the remaining inventory, market as limited, move inventory to Japan and sell at original price." Brilliant!

I'm so confused at where this company is going.

Just like all the new MG Putters in the States are marked 1/300.

Just the back of the club head. Maybe you can relate to some of the jdm Miura ( 5001)but the North American forged product has a distinctive classic look (mb, 501,57,9003). I hope this gives some clarity into what I mean. Top down probably look stellar. Cavity is breaking molds from what I have played over the years
