Too funny on the red shag carpet

 

When my folks built a house in '79. They let us kids pick out carpet colours for our bedrooms. Mine was red, not full on shag but close enough. You couldn't roll putts on it

How'd you like to take on Jimmy Demaret and Ben Hogan in a 4 ball match ?

I think perhaps Nicklaus and Miller could handle it ... based on their Canada Cup success rate ... but not many others

 

 

 

 

Somewhat related, one of my favourite books is The Match where Hogan and Nelson take on Ward Jr and Venturi. Awesome part of the book when Nelson calls Hogan from Eddie Lowery's house and lets the am's know who his partner will be

Rolling putts was on my smooth bedroom carpet, setup between two 1 foot strips of masking tape. I did chip in the basement on the shag until I caught a piece of the TV cabinet and that was the end of that. My faithful beagle would watch me putt, but here he is reading the dictionary, trying to improve himself, lol, the strips are just out of sight. Perplexed about my '86 SI, but found where I had my Arnie instructional LP I got as a gift many years ago from about '62 or '63 - for some reason I always thought it was a 78 rpm, it's not! Still sounds great! Nice ad inside for the Mercury S-55 - my grandpa had one of those Mercurys with the cool back window that went down.

 

Sorry, I guess the beagle isn't a Tour photo!

Can't resist a good jeans or cargo shorts challenge, but honestly that is THE image I have when I think about my favorite kind of golf outfit - no kidding. Give me some weather that allows some pants, soft navy v-neck and a golf shirt and that picture is what I have in my mind every time (sorry Jack, but we've never been fashion sisters!).

Actually, I had forgotten about Tom in diapers until I just saw that again. How could you ever live that down? I can't laugh, I can't hardly look, just in shock - again!
