Doug Sanders used to hype his clothes, gloves shoes, and occasionally bags in the same color...

Dude was beyond cool from a clothes standpoint....a bit ocd buy very cool

I remember my Dad taking me to the Hope (probably around 76 or 77) and being near the main entrance (facing practice green. Maybe Tamarisk or Bermuda Dunes) on the course side and seeing this guy dressed in some crazy colors. I couldn't tell you exactly, probably lavender and yellow and whatever else, glove matched his outfit I remember. He was coming down the steps with some good looking younger woman and had a drink in hand. Probably 2 women actually lol.. long time ago not sure. But I do distinctly remember turning to my Dad and asking, "Who's that?" My Dad chuckled a little and said, "Well that's Doug Sanders. He's quite a showman and a hell of a stick".

Not much of a post but hadn't thought of that memory til seeing this Sanders pic.

I don’t allow myself to look at this thread very often, so that when I do, it’s like a buffet lunch with all the trimmings.

If you’ve only looked at these thru your phone (like me) go back and see things though a bigger screen. Even better...

I miss Seve.

He showed off a lot on the Driving Range. I remember him at the Drottningholm Range 1991 standing on one leg, hitting beautiful, dead straight long irons one after the other without putting the other foot down. But when he got onto the course he was in the woods all the time. I guess he did that to show some tricky lie magic...

Man I love Trevino...

And can never get enough of his tales from the tour in the great era of Jack...

This is probably my favorite (well, other than his recap of beating jacklin and jack at the Open)

This one too. The golf he played to win Turnberry in '86 was as good as it can by played.

Greg-Norman-1986-British-Open.jpg

What a year that could have been!!! the saturday slam.Insanely high level of golf just couldnt close on the other 3.

Right?!? People remember him for that collapse at Augusta in '96, but they forget how good he was at the height of his powers. For a decade his A game was close to untouchable.

Norman was an even greater sportsman by the way he dealt with the aftermath of his 1996 Masters collapse.

Norman was untouchable for the better part of a decade...he happened to be snake bitten...

Much like Tom Weiskopf, everyone on earth agreed he had more talent than anyone else...

But he was truly a guy who the golf gods had it in for....Norman could putt beautifully while Weiskopf wasn’t as handy around the greens...

But both those guys remind me so much of Dustin Johnson...

Awe inspiring but don’t win quite as many big ones as they should...

Look at this swing...

PS: DJ has a lot of time to prove me wrong...I only make the parallel bexause when he is on, like Norman and Weiskopf, he is awe inspiring and has already lost out on 3 [more] majors he should’ve won...

If they kept playing with the wooden headed drivers, I'm sure Norman would have dominated for even longer.
