PING replacement I200/G700

There is a forged iron coming out similar to the G700 that fits between the iBlade and the i200

I'm starting to think the club pictured in this thread is this other club and not the i500...the odds that they are just abandoning that profile in favor of a TMB/790 equivalent doesn't seem right to me.

So their top performer middle of the line players iron is just going away? I'm not saying I doubt what you're saying at all as it sounds like you've actually laid eyes on the club in question. I just find it a little odd given how it's been described. Seems about equivalent to Titleist ditching the AP2 and just having the AP3 in its place.

I've seen one in hand and heard about the other. My thought is the i200 replacement isn't much different but it's a guess. It may be the club sandy is talking about.

What Ive heard is the i500 will be a slimmed down version of G700, which is what we've seen. There will also be an i200 replacement as well. I don't know if iblade is being replaced. Hope to know more soon.

I'll keep my i200s, but would look seriously at a slimmed down G700 for my 5 and 4 irons.

iBlade being replaced next year. Reps are seeing everything at their upcoming meetings...the July releases and all of next years products. Only disappointment is the i500 has more offset than today’s i200..

I haven't heard one away or another. I was be surprised if it was fully forged. They tried with the Anser line and it just wasn't a huge hit. Now maybe they are forging the face with a cast body but that is just a guess.

I am going to say it’s identical. I have never seen it or any specs but by posting this it means the correct answer is somewhere on this page.

The s59 I don’t think was a huge hit. It came across, in my view as a blade player at the time, as a fairly niche market club for them. But with some refinement and persistence we got the s56 and s55, so there may be some room to run for Ping on that side of the business.

Ping needs to have a major shakeup with the people who name their clubs. If there is a thought out and organized naming pattern I can't figure it out. I love Ping clubs, but they outright suck in this area. Come on Marty and John.

Owner is a friend of mine

He told me that PING is coming out with 2 new irons

The i300 and the i500

 

The i300 will be a iblade replacement iron

The i500 will replace the i200

 

He did not mention anything about either one of the irons being forged and I did not ask

He also said they would not be in the stores until late Sep

Why would the i300 (i210) replace the iblade. and...

the i500 replace the i200?

 

Shouldnt it be the other way around ?? the i210 replaces the i200, and the i500 replaces the iblade ?

i500 (smaller sized G700 new model not a replacement), and i210 or i201 (replacement for i200) coming in July. The reps. have their samples and are awaiting OK to start showing them to retailers. The iBlade replacement is next year.
