What does the i500 replace? G 400? Very small window to fill otherwise.

From my understanding it doesn't replace anything. Consider the i500 as a TM P790 competitor, a better player's G700 iron or an i200 hollow headed iron. But the i200 is not replaced by the i500 - the i210 will be the replacement for the i200. At least that is my understanding.

From a couple of west coast buyers I know. They’ve been shown samples. i500 does seem to be a P790 competitor and the i210 is the i200 replacement. NOTHING IS FORGED. i210 not a drastic departure from successful i200. i500 everybody has seen the original pictures. Might indicate summer release although nothing was said on ordering or release date, just a viewing I guess

Something is forged. It might be your only or limited release but there is something new of their that is forged. I heard the product specialist at Ping tell a tour player that this new club is forged.

Which new club? i500 just a small version of G700 which is hollow cast. Certainly no need to forge i210. Maybe something coming in fall, but not one of the buyers said anything about forged, which would have been big news. Can’t imagine what would inspire Ping to forge anything, as they have no experience with forging (the 2010 and 2013 Anser was not true forged, just basic shape and rest was machining which doomed it in Asia)

Well the g400 face is forged. But maybe a forged driving iron is my only guess because it was a long iron.

i500 (smaller sized G700 new model not a replacement), and i210 or i201 (replacement for i200) coming in July. The reps. have their samples and are awaiting OK to start showing them to retailers. The iBlade replacement is next year.

I love you.....

The forged club they are talking about are a NEW line of wedges. Both of the new irons are still cast. The i500 is basically a bladed version of the G700, and the i210 is the next generation of the i200 with slightly higher MOI. Both clubs and the wedges should be available in July. I just confirmed this with a Ping rep and he has samples he is showing now.

PING lineup is getting to be WAY too crowded. I'm already annoyed with them for launching G400 Max so soon after G400. Was looking at the Stealth wedges today (which they JUST LAUNCHED, by the way) but now I read they are coming out with forged wedges in July?!? WTF, PING? They will claim that there isn't supposed to be overlap with all the new models and these new models fit niches, but the testing and reviews reveal that they actually do overlap in performance which just causes consumer confusion and frustration for people that just bought clubs only to have newer and better come out a few months later. Hey, they are shaking things up and have new management, fine, but man I really don't get it. Careful, PING, that you don't turn into Taylormade 2.0

I understand since you've been so used to their old ways. Ultimately things change and I hope that they stay relevant, so if having 5 irons is what is needed to stay so I'm all for it.

I personally feel they need a 6th iron. A low offset g400 iron would be phenomenal.

Let me tell you what Wooderson is packin'

IMO Callaway has already surpassed TaylorMade on several fronts with the race to the bottom. Too many product lines, too much product duplication, short product lifelines, and too many strongly lofted irons. The lofts on the Rouge X irons are simply a bad joke. YMMV.

Karsten....the man of one head one shaft for all is rolling in his grave. What happened to not releasing product unless it surpassed the current line??? I liked it when there was one iron set available. Eye 2... Zing...Zing 2....

Pretty soon the club will use artificial intelligence and swing for you....you can just sit in the cart and drink beers :)

Held the entire lineup in my hands yesterday... i210 is a direct replacement of the i200, to my eye it was a SLIGHTLY larger head than the i200, still very good looking though.

i500 like many have stated is a more bladed version of the G700, face on the i500 is forged (the head does in fact say FORGED on the back of it). Looks pretty awesome btw... was told by my rep that the i500 is in fact the replacement to the iBlade, whether or not that is true, I'm not sure.

Glide FORGED wedges.... AMAZING...

So what does the back of i210 look like ?

just face of the i500 is forged ? or is the whole thing forged ? head size compared to iblade ?

i210 looks very similar to the i200 from all angles, back cavity is slightly more "rounded" for lack of a better way of putting it. Save for looking slightly larger in appearance to me, that is about the only difference I saw.

On the i500 yes, only the face is forged. Head is definitely bigger than the iBlade. It kind of plays tricks on you really, when holding it up and actually looking at the head, it looks quite large... put it at address and it seems to shrink and look VERY good. This is coming from someone who played S55's for 4+ years and now P750's, I could play the i500's based on address looks alone.

Im assuming Ping's "elastomer insert" is still present on the i210 ?

What a hideous looking and feeling iron.
