Did anyone else catch the Superman comment directed at DJ?

Yes that was terrible. I'm not sure if it was him being arrogant or a joke. Have the time Rahm sounds like he could be working the drive thru at a T-bell.

Probably it's just a compliment to DJ, he thinks among all the players DJ is something else

That’s the way I took it I believe Rham has been runner up to DJ a couple times. The way he said it seemed more like grudging respect rather than a dig, that being said it as a competitor I don’t think that’s healthy to have a preconceived notion that someone is unbeatable.

I'm sure thanking sponsors is part of his deal, especially after a win but I doubt they are happy with how he handled it. Throwing out all the sponsors in the beginning makes it easily forgotten and eliminates the chances of their names getting mentioned in other outlets. Sponsors would much prefer that their names be used in providing an answer to a question people would be interested in hearing. DJ might have been cringe worthy but it did more for TM than Rahm's NASCAR shoutout.

Yeas, that was a great round, expecially since I arrived on time thanks to my ROLEX!

If it was his first win I could understand but I am still turned off when golfers go overboard with their promotions. I can see what company sponsors you so it just starts sounding strained and fake when they do too much. Phil walks a fine line every time he puts a new club in the bag and has a good round but if this press conference went down as written then it sounds a little over the top.

Just turn off the tv if you don't like it.

These guys are in it for the glory and to make as much money as they can while they can.

I guess if we all turned off the tv because we didn't like somthing, then they wouldn't televise golf tournaments and the players wouldn't be playing for astronomical purses!

I never said I didn't like anything...i just posted that it reminded me of NASCAR!

Never liked the turn off the tv answer. The tour is around because of people like us isn't it?

Watch golf, enjoy golf, see final putt, turn golf off.

That's how it should work.

Since the PGA Tour works for us I don't want to turn off my TV. I want to watch.

That's all I was saying. I'm out after the last putt.

However, voting with one's viewing habits is one of the few ways consumers have of showing displeasure. So, turning the tv off is a valid answer if ya don't like what you're watching.

I would agree. I'm not sure its the *only* way of showing displeasure it just seems according to WRX there is no other way than turning off the tv.

Rahm and Spieth are both so petulant on the course, I can't stand either

Call the wahmbulance already ... even better ... get an air wahmbulance to fly them to a remote tour where they can battle croc's and hippo's in the rough and they can pout about green imperfections

Awww, come on folks. He's won twice on the PGA Tour. He's the next Tiger Wood! He's just making sure his sponsors get a nod. You know, because having them plastered all over his gear isn't enough of an advert. Maybe Golfers should start wearing flame proof jumpsuits with all the sponsors' badges all over them.

Did anyone listen to the Career Builder press conference tonight and feel like they were listening to a NASCAR press conference???"I would like to thank Taylormade and twistface technology...Rolex, Adidas and my newest sponsor Mercedes"!!!

I know without sponsors the PGA tour wouldn't be playing for the $ they are playing for and that player endorsements help the players pay the bills. Just thought it sou def different than most players press conferences.

He said that during his greenside interview as well and I giggled and said aloud, "Is this NASCAR?" Glad I wasn't the only one.

Apparently none of you have ever had sponsors for anything. When companies are investing millions of dollars in partnering with public facing individuals they expect their products to be brought up whenever possible, especially when there is success using that product. Spend an hour on Instagram and check out any of the fitness athletes, and almost every workout has their sponsor brought up somehow or being leveraged in the video.

When the 1st winner holds up the 18th green interview to open up his can of Coca-Cola.........then we have a problem. Until then I'm fine with it.

Except this isn't Instagram, or Nascar or anything else. His clothing, bag and unique color pattern on clubs tell you what he is playing so no reason to start a trend of ridiculous Nascar like interviews. Its unbecoming and annoying and frankly a turnoff. The ridiculous claims in the commercials are enough, thank you very much.

So change the channel or watch PVR to skip the commercials my man. Nascar is widely known as one of the best outlets for sponsorship strategy, not only because of the audience but because of the timeliness of sponsor activity. Nothing wrong with how or what Rahm is doing or has done.

Here's what's intriguing. We all talk about Golfing history and tradition. Get all bent out of shape about Rickie untucked in a Hawaiin shirt. Blah, blah, blah.

I wonder if Seve would be rolling in his grave hearing Rahm talking about all his sponsors FIRST.

We need a "get off my lawn" gif made specifically for "turn off the tv" comments. We aren't turning our TV's off folks. The PGA Tour is ours, why would I turn my TV off for that without at least advocating, complaining, demanding what I want from my own damn tour first?

Not sure if it’s been said already, but I’d assume so:

If you’re watching the press conference after a Ho-Hum tournament that is EXACTLY what you’re going to get.

Watch a press conference after a major if you want true feelings, true meaning to what it means to the golfer.

The “other tournaments” are what make them a living, the majors are why they play! I can’t say any one of us would be any different, I know I wouldn’t be!
