Rogue Subzero Fairway wood

Curious on thoughts regarding this. I've seen two videos online and the SZ was considerably further. Not a fan of a CB yellow shaft but limited options with Callaway in upper 70 grams. What shaft are you guys bagging with this. I'm between and stiff and X and trying to figure it out. Considering Fuji Pro 73 X-stiff

Just realized I can't adjust loft, really wanted a bag a 16.5 loft. Need to decide if want a 15 or 18 degree. 18 will hold a green on a par 5 while the 15 will be longer off the tee..

There’s been no major reviews at all on these fairway wood which are supposedly the second coming of the man from Nazareth. Curious as to whether this is just THP hype or potentially for real.

Word of mouth is a few guys have successfully bent theirs 1 degree either way. Hosel is easy to manipulate with a trusted club builder.

This was the norm before adapters

Can you order a 15 degree at 16 degree? Or just have it bent?

pretty sure the evenflow black 70 is a no upcharge, just not listed on the site currently. I am guessing you can get a 6.5.

I know fairwaygolfusa has the evenflow black 6.5 which is about 79 grams. The limited 80 gram options that Callaway have aren't great shafts for my swing (Hzrdus yellow which is counterbalanced is no go).

Back to the original post, the 15 sub zero has me very interested. Currently play a TM M2 tour and its long when hit, but mishits seems to be more and more punished the more I play it. Some of my best 3 wood shots were with a Callaway fairway wood about 5 years ago, so looking at returning.

I agree with the M2 tour. I gamed 1 3HL last year and it was great when hit on screws but wasn't a fan if hit low heel. Hoping for more forgiveness. Have the 917f2 and its ...blah.

My miss it out towards the toe and it seems to go nowhere. Sometimes I'm surprised at how short it is when mishit. It also isn't as low spin as you would think for a tour model with the weight in front.

I have a few range sessions and a round under my belt with the Rogue SZ 15 with EF Blue 6.5. My current gamer is a 917 F2 with a Kuro Kage XT. I’ve loved the Titleist for quite a while, but the Rogue is longer, straighter and seems to be more forgiving.

I ended up in two fairway bunkers that weren’t in play with the 917. I’m not sure if it’s hotter ball speed or less spin, but the Rogue is easily 10 yards longer. It felt great, flew high, and didn’t balloon into the wind. The EF Blue is also an amazing shaft. It’s obviosly not as stiff as my XTS, but it’s surprisingly accurate and consistent.

I think this is going to be a great seller for Callaway!

Gotta get it done by a reliable builder. Cant order it that way.

So went out and hit the Callaway rogue and rogue sz fairway today (sim pga superstore with GC). Very little loss of ball speed and spin was consistent on shots no matter where they were hit. Very impressed. The ball stayed straight. I like the rogue sz better, but the regular is also very good. The face wasn't as shallow as I had originally thought. Size is not large but not too small. I looked at the Cobra F8+ fairway, which is a beautiful club, but any loss of confidence and it looks like a blade for a fairway wood.

This club looks like it will replace my TM M2 tour, and as much as people rave about TM fairway woods, Callaway has the advantage.

I hit the rogue sub zero over the weekend (no launch monitor and into a net), and from a feel/sound perspective it's the first fairway I've hit that feels as good as my tour issue M2 (2016 model). Can't comment on numbers yet, but I will hit it again to see what it can do based on feel/sound.

I’ve been a loyalist to the mighty Cobra LTD fairway since it came out. Nothing has come close.

I caught a demo of the SZ Rogue fairway and I am lusting for it. It’s AS good, but I’m not ready to say better.

The stock setup was giving me the same numbers as my fit, aftermarket shafted Cobra on a CG2.

Hence the lust - a properly fit SZ fairway wood with the right shaft could be better.

I find that insane, but true.

Definitely a must try for those in the market.

I hit this, tour edge's latest, the F8 line, and the 917 and the F8+ and Rogue SZ produced best numbers. Feel is a toss up. I liked the aesthetics of the nardo better than the rogue. My $.02

I found the tour edge CBX to only be slightly lower spin then the rogue sub zero. This was with different shafts in both of them. The F8+ looks great, but the head size looks so small. I feel like if I was struggling a little, I could lose confidence in it very fast.

A few balls I hit low on the face with the rogue sz, and they still got airborne easily and the spin didn't get too high, which often happens.

Yep is glued on the Rogue you can get a 4 wood in the standard Rogue @17* ( Loft option from 13.5 to 25 degrees !!!)

Only 3+ (13.5) , 3 (15) and 5 (18) wood in Sub Zero versions.

Driver for Show Putter for dough!

The rogue sz 13.5 is going to skirt a lot of people's drivers!

the ballspeeds I saw on the standard 3 (15*) -- were downright ridiculous.

I seem to be the only person that did not like the Rogue SZ. It was definitely better off of the tee, but I had some trouble launching it off of the fairway. For comparison, I had no problem with the Epic SZ.

I was hitting the SZ with the Even Flow shaft and my miss seemed to be a dead pull. Good shots were generally pretty straight. I still can not find anything to beat my TM R15 3w, even though I have spent some cash trying to.
