I find it sadly amusing that many of you are reacting to someone else's choices this way. This has spread to just about every thread on a person or piece of equipment. The only things/people you praise are the mods,,, maybe because you want what they might give away.

 

And dad's, Paige is the least worrisome influence our daughters will run across on the internet.

 

Your last sentence might be true but for those of us who coach junior girls it actually is bad. So bad that we have to enforce dress codes at tourneys because 14 year olds show up in Paige junior clothing. Don't believe me? Ask around. We sent 2 girls home last year for that exact reason. Ajga has a hard time dealing with that because it's an uncomfortable discussion. The fathers get upset with the mothers for allowing that and so on. So from a golf perspective it's not great in my opinion

 

No,, I believe you. I teach and coach as well, but have not seen what you have yet, though given the teen fashion trends it is only a matter of time. Is there a line of junior clothing that is like what paige wears?

If Golf Digest has her on the cover and features her, how is she being deceptive about being a golfer? She has the college golf pedigree, and endorsement contract from the same cluib sponsor as Lydia Ko and Zach Johnson.

 

Because fame is fleeting. I hope she is much better with her business management than with her image. Once these opportunities dry up and she is no longer young and beautiful, hopefully she was wise with where her money was placed. Given her most recent interview, I'm not sure that is the case.

 

And once again, if she has a message, she needs to stick to it. She's isn't. And the more she exposes herself to scrutiny, the worse it's going to get for her. Especially since she doesn't seem to have a good way of addressing these issues when confronted with them.

 

Don't forget that SHE is the one talking about empowering women and her anti-bullying campaign. "Empowering women" by selling your body in a bikini? Nope. Taking a stab at anyone who criticizes her, calling them a "bully"? Strike 2. "I'm a Professional Golfer, but don't want to play Golf for a living." Strike 3. It's actually rather daft if you think about it. This is NOT a person I would tell my daughters to emulate nor listen to.

[stopping] cyber-bullying is a big passion of mine and I talk about it all the time. I’ve had a pretty rocky road to where I am today and I have always struggled with feeling confident and with loving myself because every time I wear something that is a little tighter or a little low cut or I’m just feeling a little sexy that day, I’m always cut down or called names. So to be in this issue where I’m going to be wearing nearly nothing, maybe a piece of fabric, [sends a message] I’m empowered, I love my body. I’m proud of the person I am and I can still talk about cyberbullying and be a positive influence in a young girl’s or boy’s life. And I can still make a difference. I think that’s really cool and I think that’s the message that SI‘s trying to push: That women can love their bodies and be who they want to be and it’s really cool to be surrounded by that.

Nope, not true. As a dad of 2 young daughters that are very early on in their golf interest I would rather them follow on the internet or social media any player on the LPGA (an ACTUAL professional golfer) than this uhhhhhmm instagram sensation that tries to golf but has to pose naked to gain followers.

Naked, huh?.......

In SI? Yes. She may not be flashing the "goods" but she is naked. Not empowering in my book. YMMV.

Ill just say one last thing. Paige was asked to debate Britt Mchenry tonight on watters world and she declined. Says alot about her i find. Britt said nothing controversial or mean on the show and was very civil and respectful so dont see why she declined. i believe twitter is more her speed.

If you're so strong, then why is someone criticizing you for wearing tight, revealing clothing hurt so much? If you made the choice to pose for SI, then why do you care what others think or say? Kind of the opposite of strong, don't you think?

 

From what I can gather, she seems to be the type who's parents never told her she was wrong or criticized her for anything, and let her do whatever she wanted, which is exactly why she can't take someone disapproving of her clothing choices. She what's known as a "snowflake" these days.

 

I have no issue with any woman posing in SI, Playboy, GQ, etc., but don't do so and then say you are not trying to get attention. If you are pretty and have a great body, and you are proud of that and want to show it off because people like it, and it makes you feel good to get the attention, then by all means do so. Just don't lie to yourself or anyone else about your motives.

 

I highly doubt PXG would have hired her if she were not a sex symbol. Sex (appeal) still sells.

It's interesting that PS as a 'polarising person' actually never says anything original. All her rhetoric is simply a jigsaw of utterly conventional stuff about empowerment, power, sexuality etc. that you'd get from any random media snowflake. It's ironic that such a conventional thinker could end up being 'polarising'.
