Rory's distance control has been pretty sub-standard this season. Did he switch to new irons/wedges?

 

It was the exact same last season. His distance control has been poor for a while. I thought the off-season would help but he's gone from being one of the best wedge players around at around 20/21 to a below-average wedge player at 28. Massive drives + average wedges is no better than average drive and good mid-irons.

If I remember correctly Titleist was never an option. He said coming off Nike that he had played the Prov (in the 17 Masters) and that spin and distance control were way off. It was a straight competition between the Callaway and TM balls, the clubs were not a consideration, only the balls and TM won.

 

Again, I believe that he has stated that he had similar issues when he switched from Titleist to Nike and that it was some time before Nike managed to produce a ball that he was comfortable with.

I’d hardly consider 3 a short par five . 290 into the wind to leave yourself a 250 shot straight into the wind again

Berger bogeys, missing a 5-6 footer and dropping the lead back down to -4. Brandt seems to be in a great spot now with the form he's in. Tiger needs to hang on.

I actually really like Berger's swing and ball flight.

It's hard to believe that there a people on the "whiney Justin Thomas" thread defending this type of behaviour. Some people say that Tiger has had to deal with it forever, welcome to Tigers world. I say BS and it's time something was done.
