Man I was watching earlier today and then the fiancé wanted to go out. I can’t believe I missed Phil winning in a playoff!

Next time

Pretend you dropped a magnum of vino on your toe. Scream like a woman and fall on your butt. (apply some red and black sharpie an hour earlier so when you pull your sock off it looks all messed up)

You can watch the golf and tell her to make nachos ;

From near out of bounds with a few holes to go to win in overtime. Fantastic entertainment. I am renewing my cable subscription.

Is thiis the right thread for Fergusons live suicide?

Fergie, don't do a momma Cass, stay clear of ham sandwiches

You know if mama Cass had shared that sandwich with Karen Carpenter they both might be alive today.

Huh?

Youre showing your age.this is a great joke

Puzzled ? Sharma is likely to backup. He may not. But odds are anyone that young in their 1st pga event will. So I'd say winner goes -5 today. Hope it's phil. Could be jt since he was hot yesterday but he'd need -7. . Don't see many more doing it. Dj could. But he's need -6 or better. He hasn't shown to be that hot this week.

hate to toot my own horn....but i will.. it appears i called it this morning.... havent been in water enough to float lately...possible that i am a witch ?

"Hate to toot my own horn".......But let me quote myself anyway, lol come on man.

Yeah i mean who does stuff like that

Phil smartly played the 18th tee as he should have keeping the ball in the fairway. That has been my complaint all along about him, when the pressure gets on he makes the bad decision. Today he made a fantastic decision and won the tournament. Maybe he has read some of my posts and the strategy within them.

I don’t think hitting a fairway is a decision. I mean once it leaves the clubface it has Free will.

Pretty great to Phil win again, I wasn't sure he was going to get it done being so close yet stuck for a while. JT had a ridiculous weekend!

Anyone see Phil's press conference? "I will definitely get to 50 wins."

He also said this when he won pebble in i believe 2012? he said this to feherty and mccord a few times. he truly believes he can do it.i dont see why he doesnt get to 45. he loves mixing it up with the younger guys.Im almost 100% sure he'll be the oldest major winner ever. you can just feel it. if a stiff backed freddy contended at the masters in his 50s several times phil will definitely contend health permitting of course. We better enjoy these guys while we have them

Phil finally did it. Contended all Year and gets the win. Please give this guy a US Open win at Shinnecock Hills. Great day for golf.

I would love to see him win at Shinnecock for the career Slam. He played great in 2004. It took perhaps the best putting ever to beat him. Goosen was lights out on the greens, which were baked out to the point they were having to water at least one of them in between groups.

First let me dab the tears from my eyes, folks. :)

What a great weekend of golf! Couldn't be happier for the great Phil Mickelson. And what a challenge from JT. He's a stud.

Chapultepec is a great tournament course. It's tight enough to present danger on nearly every hole, but plays short enough for many great scoring opportunities. That combination is sure to produce drama, and this event has been one of the top tournaments the last two years.

The return of Tiger and the reemergence of Phil has really ignited this TOUR season, and we're just getting warmed up, folks. :)

Mickelson is my favorite live golfer (Hogan RIP) and I had to contain my joy today while cooking for family (I’m the only one that golfs... period... no one would understand), I hope to god he gets the US Open at Shinnecock. Please. It’s destiny.

He almost won in 95 there as well but tripled the 16th on sunday.I think he played that hole something like +5-+6 for the week. Crazy. I played there last year and its been really beefed up. they added some length. Im guessing a few more drivers this time around for the players unless its baked but still, going to be awesome golf

THAhs funny. I happened to be cooking dinner tonight. I decided to make tacos to honor Phil’s win. Nobody else was enthused. Loll. So I understand.

Anybody get the feeling that during the closing holes that maybe Thomas iced himself? He was sitting in a luxury box or something just watching while Fowler explained PMI to him. It's one thing to take a breather but I expected him to go out and stay warm and keep his head in the game. Maybe he was thinking nobody else would get to -16?

Nah, i just think that hole favored Phil.I dont like Koch too much but he was right when he said its tough for a righty to draw a short iron wedge and spin it/hit it high enough to that corner.he also had bad vibes from 3 jacking it there.

Good on Phil. He should be a major factor at Augusta.

Dare I say the U.S. Open? Shinnecock is the kind of course he could do well on.

Shinnecock? Phil? nope

He finished 2nd at Shinneock in 2004. Retief Goosen's putting was insane that week.

It was a long time ago, but Phil was also in contention there in 1995 when Corey Pavin won.

Obviously, past success at any venue is no guarantee of future success, but Phil certainly loves playing Shinnecock Hills.

Many people forget just how close Phil came to winning his first major at the 1995 U.S. Open. The final numbers show that Phil tied 4th, four strokes off Pavin's winning score.

What many people forget is that Phil played the par 5 16th that week in double bogey-bogey-double bogey-bogey, or +6 for the week. If he merely pars that hole all four days he ends up winning.

He was at the range before the playoff started.
