Epic Subzero 440s Do Exist

So I finally got the Epic Subzero 440 in hand and all I can say is WOW. I wish they had brought this model to retail! Big shoutout to JD's Clubs for this build! I did not have a chance to hit it quite yet but I will try and get it to a monitor this week sometime! Enjoy some pictures compared to a 917 D2, I will write a full review this week hopefully!

Actual Loft: 8.5 degrees

Lie: 58 degrees

Shaft: T1100 75g 6.5 flex

Kidding aside there is still a few of us out there who have a general hatred of modern size 460 heads and long for sub 400 heads that are pear shaped. The last good head I saw of 440 or less was the RFX 440. The m1 430, m1 440 and even the SLDR 430 could not match the shape of the RFX

I played a 2016 M1 430 and liked the compact look at address, I then moved to a 917 D3. From the 917 I went to the 915 D4 then to the stock Epic Subzero. I have a hard time looking down at the larger 460 heads

I FINALLY got to start my mini shootout yesterday between the JDM Epic Forged and the JDM Epic Star.

I have to say after all of my testing I truly think the Epic 440 was the way to go for me. I know the price is steep but lets be honest people pay that for builds on stock heads from fitters. I did some tests indoors today and found that my dispersion was tighter than the stock SZ while my ball speed was up. I was averaging around 290-295 carry and total was around the 305-310 mark. I think that the build I have is ideal for my swing speed and what I have been looking for in a driver!

Spin rates were on average about 100 rpm lower than the stock. I noticed the stock averaged around 2400 rpm while the 440 was consistent around the 2300 mark. I do think that on course testing will show any real differences in performance though

I did not find it to feel much different whatsoever, I think the real benefit of this head is the appearance

Gosh, if the it was just a black finish, it would look almost identical to the RAZR Fit Xtreme from the top.
