How you liking your Srixon driver?
It’s very good for me – nice, muted yet satisfying sound and quite forgiving for a ‘better players’ lower spinning head. Plenty long when hit properly and mishits aren’t overly punished. More forging than my Cobra F8+. I also have an F8 (not F8+) head that I swap in when my driving goes off, that head is so forgiving - it's in the bag now which tells you the state of my driving.

Aren't you finding the 95 Nippons "soft"
They’re not 950’s though, they are 980’s that are made for Srixon with a heavier weight and higher balance point. 103.5 grams in stiff. Nevertheless, they are a little soft although they feel great. I have put a 1050 stiff in my 7I as a test, that is 109.5 grams and my dispersion is better with no distance loss.
I may go to Modus 105’s X @ 112 grams at some stage.

How is the Bean working out?
Not great, I’ve taught myself putter fitting and a blade with a plumber’s neck suits my arc stroke and eye dominance better rather than the face-balanced mallet Bean. Fortunately, the Infinite’s are a great experiment and cheap as you note and I will be going back to the Windy City model I have for now.
I intend to get a Cobra 3D Grandsport 35 blade when I find one at a price I am happy to pay.

Have you heard about the new Wilson Triad ball?
No, I’m happy with my balls and don't wish to upset an organised crime group.🙂

Now, is there anything else that you’d like to know? 🤣

16 A few good men ideas | a good man, men, i movie

My friend had a Nardo F8+ a few years ago....I liked it.

Ya, I like the Windy City....every time I go into Golf Town...I always roll a few putter with it.

The Lakeshore is the one Diamond Tour was selling for $49 US pre-Covid

I also have a Bucktown - the fang mallet - that's a little softer than the Bean.

I'm coming to the conclusion that face-balanced mallets will only suit the very small %age of straight back straight thru strokes. Almost everyone has some arc and therefore you have to manipulate the face-balanced putter to square up at impact - breeds inconsistency. It's why you are seeing mallets with plumbers and slant necks to better suit arc strokes becoming really popular.

Here's an interesting take on this:

From the little known, and probably useless, fact department.

Joe Friday never said, "Just the facts, ma'am".

In the 1953 episode "The Big Lease," Friday tells the main suspect, one Mrs. Banner (Sarah Selby), "All we know are the facts, ma'am."

But it doesn't quite roll off the tongue with the same pop.

Yeah, I remember that episode vaguely.  Watched it on YT . . . but I believe it was Dan Ackroyd that popularized it.  Similar to how Johnny Carson popularized "billions and billions" in skits about Carl Sagan.

I think the arc thing is too overrated and too technical...especially for he average golfer.

Me....I like a blade style putter because I find better distance control with it.....unfortunately distance control is so overlooked.

I was putting so well with my dad's 1970 Ping Anser for while.

Since Dec 4....6 rds....ranging from 29 to 32 putts and only 3 jacking twice in those 6 rds.

Then on Sat last week.

37 putts with the Ping....three 3 jacks including a 3 jack from 6 feet...WTH....that garbage putting cost me 12 skins during the rd...WTH.

Switched it up yesterday...decided to play my mint used Huntington Beach $55 putter...29 putts....no 3 jacks.

But 2 lost balls in the MUCK SLOP here cost me 10 skins...ugh.

As a cheapo...no need for me to be a $500-$1000 Scotty POSER.🤣

Agreed.  Distance control, and by implication "pace" or "speed" is more important when sinking putts than the line -- of course one has to be on a good line, but being on the right line itself does not equate to sinking putts.   Good distance control means getting those first putts close to the hole so one can minimize three-putting.

I have an older Ping Zing putter too . . . late 1970s and it was leading edge at the time, beryllium I believe, but I find it is too light to use these days . . . especially for longer lag putting.

12 Skins!  😉

Yes, the Ping Zing putter was popular...same with the Ping Zing irons...they were FUGLY...but I could have played them.

Yes...my 1970 Anser is lighter than my HB1...and the HB1 is more solid and the deep milled face makes the feel so soft.

When the HB1 came out a few years ago at $99 US...it was considered the best valued milled faced putter.

I've changed a few things about my putter process that has helped me.

So is Patty T a Titleist free agent now?....she's only listed as a ProV1x ball pro on the Titleist site......not a brand ambassador.

She's also not on the Ping site.

I saw news of several Thai players getting fitted by Titleist SEA several weeks ago . . . before Christmas.

Any news on L. Ko's sand iron?  She seems to handle the sand pretty well; better than i do certainly.

She has a pair of Vokey wedges in her bag. Not sure of the lofts, but she played a 54 and 58 for years with PXG. In her Callaway days she had a 54 and 60 in her bag.

She was on a truespec video fitted for callaway TCBs but also had titleist T100 (2019)...

Games a spider putter tho.

She's played a Titleist TSi3 driver for the first two events.

Putter looks like a TaylorMade Spider X.

Like many, I’m a big Lexi fan. A few years ago I remember watching and doing a double take when they she was handing an iron to her caddy. I paused the DVR because it looked like she was playing my irons! I’ve had Cobra S2 irons since 2011. The reason I was shocked is, the S2’s are really game improvement irons. After Googling what was in her bag, I did see she plays the forged version of the S2. I’m still kind of blown away by this. After all these years, she hasn’t found something different?

I just got fitted at PGX and next week will be finally moving on from the Cobras. Speaking of PXG, this also surprises me: Megan Khang and Ryan O’Toole are playing PXG’s 0211 irons. These are their entry level cast model. These are the irons I ended up getting, but really surprised a couple of pros choose them over the 0311’s.

Some players just prefer blades. Austin Ernst also plays the 0211STs in 7 - 9i.

Ah, I didn’t realize the 0211ST’s were blades. I was thinking they were similar to the current regular 0211 DC hollow back clubs.

Theres two models in the 0211 line, the ST blades and the DC GIs.
