Played Glencoe Forest today, not the spot to play your second round of August but the course was in great shape, firm, greens held enough.

Realizing since starting back that I don't have enough playing partners to get out enough. Are there any good/decent fall leagues that I should consider? Same for next season actually. Right now probably playing to 20-30 HC, used to be 9-11, so I'd like to get back to that point, so not a scratch league.

Remembered why I don't play more at d'Arcy today. Love the layout but greens where slow and bumpy and might have been the worst (no sand) bunkers I've played the last few years. Just such a hit and miss experience. Played last year and don't remember these issues but it was in rough shape today. Not to mention how much they have over watered the course and each fairway was just a mush show today as well.

Played Inglewood on Sunday. The course is really starting to grow on me. I like the routing and that you have to work the ball both ways. Highway noise from Deerfoot is a minor nuisance on a couple holes, but that is offset by the nice views along the Bow river.

 

They had the 10th hole all dug up and the guys in the pro shop were anticipating work to start on 18 this week. They are redoing both green complexes, removing a couple trees and redoing the pond in front of both greens. Can't wait to see what this looks like.

Played one of my few rounds there this year. Course was in good shape overall. Enjoyed the gents I was paired with (booked as a single), and they were members giving me advice on where to put the ball.

 

I'm hoping to get onto the range somewhere this weekend a couple of times as I've been invited out to Springbank on Monday

You should really enjoy that. That "old country club" feel. I've played it once or twice (years ago) and quite enjoyed it.

Just received an invitation to play the Glencoe on Friday morning. Weather looks good. Gotta gear up for super fast and undulating greens.

Even though we're having a snow storm, the weather looks good for Friday (~24ºC). I have been invited out to play Sirocco. First time for me.

 

Had a rough outward nine on the Forest at the Glencoe this past Friday, but played better the inward nine. Based on a couple of pictures taken (unintentional) during my swing, it seems I have some work to do from now to Friday (left arm is bent ridiclously). lol

Played Banff Springs yesterday.

 

Was a bit cold and wet to start then it cleared up nicely for the rest of the day. Course is in fantastic shape as it often is at the end of the season. Greens were very smooth but a touch on the slow side from the moisture. Only complaint was the amount of sand in some of the bunkers. There was wayyyyyy too much. You couldn’t even walk in them let alone play out of them.

 

Always love playing Banff. The 14th keeps me coming back every year. There is just something so special about the castle in the Rockies.

The Banff Springs is a great venue. I hope to get out to that one next year.

 

Sirocco was in great shape, even though there were a few snow drifts in some of the low lying areas. Didn't play particularly well, but enjoyed the course. Will definitely play this one again next year

Played Nanton today for $10 with cart.

 

Leave, leaves everywhere but the course was in really nice shape. I like that place, it’s a bit on the short side off the tips but the greens have good slope to them and there are some really fun holes.

 

Will definitely make a point of playing it next summer.

I remember playing Nanton years ago. I quite enjoyed it then. Something to keep in mind when I travel south to play Paradise Canyon, Picture Butte, and Magrath
