Playing Kananaskis today! Will update after the round

 

Great to see kananaskis back! Greens need some time, they were pretty sandy but pretty good considering many are brand new. They were slowish but consistent at least.

Views are still spectacular and always worth going there for.

Played out at Whitetail Crossing on Monday, steady 20-30km/h winds up here too which sucked out there, but the course was in pretty good shape overall. I'd say 80-90% of most greens were in good shape, with only a couple of small spots on a few of them having some winter kill...wish I could say the greens sucked because I think that was the worst I've ever putted but definitely couldn't use it as an excuse haha

Played Banff Springs Today. Nice course.

 

Shot 76. Left a couple out there. Not an overly difficult course. Was in great shape for only being open for 2 weeks or so.

Yah weather was great. Got alittle windy halfway through. Long round at 5:45 hours

 

Greens were really good actually.

Played Cougar Creek yesterday, great day for golf, unfortunately my game didn't make the drive out there with me...Fairways and tee boxes were in good shape for the most part, they've probably got 10-12 greens with at least some degree of damage (4-5 of them were super bumpy and had "hit and hope" putts, another 6-7 had huge patches of essentially sand that at least ran straight, and the rest were pretty good for the most part). It looked like they had aerated and it still hadn't started growing back through in most spots. I know there are a bunch of courses around Edmonton that were hit really hard this winter so I definitely don't think Cougar was the worst hit by any stretch, but hopefully they get back on track soon with some more rain and sun this week!

 

Oh, and I'm not normally one to comment on bunker condition, but I found myself in a lot of them yesterday and they were extremely consistent with a good proper amount of sand to hit out of, so I guess there's that :P:P

I'd heard they were pretty grim out there, also heard Stony and the Links were hit pretty badly early on this year, sucks for Stony as I know they struggled big time early last year as well...hopefully with a bit of rain and some more nice weather they will be back and growing everywhere soon!

Speaking of Saturday.. I've got a 2 for 1 coupon to use at Serenity, and a tee time for 12:45pm. $35 for the green fees after the coupon. Currently just myself in there, couldn't round anyone else up from my usual groups.

 

If anyone wants in, just message me before tomorrow at Noon so I can cancel/modify the time before the cancellation fees! If we need another coupon, I believe their link is still active to get one as well.

I have a tee time at 4pm on Sunday out at Speargrass with room for 2 more. I played it a couple weeks ago and it was in amazing shape.

Played the canal mastertune men’s open at delacour this weekend.

Yesterday shot 77. Was +1 going into my 16 hole and my approach shot plugged so bad in the greenside bunker that I could only see the top of the bal. made a triple there. Rattled and finished with a 77.

 

Today shot even par 72. Everything pretty solid. Would like 1 tee shot back but other then that all good.

Came in 6th out of 38 guys in the champ flight. -6 won it in a playoff. Really good tourny with lots of good players. Think there were approx 70 players or so total

Ya I am gonna play Canals tomorrow. How was the course, it must have been fast on the greens. They really did improve the course by cutting so much of the fescue down.

Greens are quick. #2 green is messed though. All that new sod is really brown. Didn’t take at all. Some bunkers need the sand raked off the faces into the bottoms. Other then that it is good. Was a little wet from all the rain Wednesday and Thursday but by today it was mostly dried up
