Sylvan got more snow last night, and more forecast for Friday & Saturday, my home course just across the fence will be closed for at least another week.

Bearspaw was badly managed. They went $10 mil over budget on the clubhouse and put out a cash call to the members for $27k each. Most walked away.

I played speargrass today. Was actually nice out. Winds were low, about 8 degrees. Played in 2 hours and shot 70. I will take that!

I am hoping to soon try out a few courses in central Alberta that I have heard good reviews and are value priced from friends and coworkers including:

1. Pine Hills in Rocky Mountain House....$50 for 18 weekdays.

2. Pheasantback near Stettler....$35 for18 weekdays. 15 of 18 have water. It appears to be on the rebound the last few years. It was previously closed for awhile.

3. Lacombe was as cheap as $17 on a golf app...hot deal: 18 with cart.

The last cash call was held in trust to see if they could hit the goal. When that didn't happen that money was returned.

I am off to Kimberly on the morning for 4 rounds in 3 days!

On a side note, got an email from Delacour. They are rebuilding the 2nd green. It has died. So starting over

Snow finally melted in Sylvan, walked 18 yesterday, first round since returning from Phoenix & Palm Springs, shot 39/41 - 80/Blues, their greens were terrible, like shag carpet & bouncy, no birdies, however, was happy to come home with the same ball. I bought a Garmin Approach G80 when down south, posted some of my findings/testing on the attached tread, it's a fun new gadget that has helped my swing. Also got a new pair of Oakley Prism Golf but the Dark Golf lenses, are they an improvement over the old prism golf lenses. If you haven't seen the "Dark Prism Golf" check them. Out again tomorrow.

The front 9 @Sylvan was worse than the back 9 IMO. The greens (played the front 9 last evening) were inconsistent.....some were dry, others were very moist. Some winter kill on several front 9 greens....didn't notice this on the back 9 the other week.

Kimberly was great. I played like garbage.

So green out here already

Wildstone was in unreal shape! So good.

Shadow was in good shape as well. That course is a little to tricked up for me though.

St.eugene first time I have played there. Like the layout. Wish the fairways were a little tighter though. Little scruffy.

Bookleg Gap was great as well. Very scenic and love the layout there.

We didn’t play trickle creek but the condo is right by there. Like 2 mins away. And we drive by it and it is looking very lush. Today was opening day there.

Lynx Ridge today for the Xfactor scramble. Course was in decent shape, some of the greens on the front had a fair amount of winter kill. Bunkers were excellent (yes, we played out of bunkers in a 4 man scramble).

Game is terrible right now. Can't hit a wedge to save my life.

Rivers’s Edge last night for men’s night. Top is soggy and mooshy like it is in spring time. Greens have just been punched. I’d give it a few weeks to grow in and dry out.

Another miserable May Long ..... windy & shi**y out here in Sylvan, golf sucks when it blowing at 50+ kmh unless the wind's behind you off the T .... hit one monster drive.

Couldn't believe there's kids in the lake today, tough Albertan's lots of people enjoying a BBQ, hopefully no drinking/driving don't need anymore deaths this weekend.

You guys in Calgary sure have been quiet or hibernating .... it will warm up later in the week.

Banff Springs. Stewart is probably a better course, but the views at Banff are far superior. Playing back towards the hotel is breathtaking.

Looks like they punched the greens about a week ago. Still a touch sandy, but they rolled nicely.

Course wintered really, really well. Will be absolutely pristine next week.

It's a screaming deal at $35 on VIP.
