May .... what a month, first lots of snow now lots of smoke, you hit driver & loose sight of your ball, it wasn't fun this morning here in Sylvan.

Hope this clears up soon & they get some rain up north and put the fires out so people can go back home & enjoy the summer.

Tournament At delacour tomorrow. Hope it clears out a bit. Seems to have moved out a bit here with the winds picking up from the south

Like how rough? I've heard they had to completely redo #2 green but other than that it was ok. Is that not the case? What happened?

Feb and April storms hit a lot of courses hard. Del might get back in good shape in July but it took a beating for sure.

The thing that gets me is that these courses aren’t offering any incentives to come play them and they are in bad shape. The Calgary golf market is perplexing and I can’t figure out how they will have long term sustainability

Inglewood is just ok. Played with a member who said they had a lot of winter kill, but it wasn't really noticeable. They have resodded the surrounds on a few greens, but other than that was very playable.

Greens recovering well from a spring punch. They need some water and to be rolled to smooth them out.

Patch work on almost every green. Lots of winter kill on the fairways still. The tee boxes were really shaggy I thought with them trying to get the grass to grow.

Hopefully with some more rain and heat they come in nice.

They are building a been new tee box on #3 to lengthen it out about 30-40 yards.

The tourney though..

Even though I scored 79 today I played way better. Low round of the day was 76 out there as it was tough with 40km winds. Hit my drive 390 yards on 5 downwind!

Was rolling right along at +2 through 9 then took a triple on 10 somehow...

Then got back in the game and was solid all the way around to 17 and 18 and went bogey and double (missed a 2 footer) to finish the round. That 7 took the wind out of my sails a bit there. If I had of not done that I would have turned in a great round. Putting was way better (except for that last putt) and I stuck the back really well in that wind

I was a restricted member there for 2 years and I really liked it. The course was absolutely mint the first year I was there. Second year they had a rookie Superintendent that let the course get away from him. But it was still good. Yah I think you would enjoy it there

Looking for some input from fellow Calgary WRX'ers. Playing the Winston club tomorrow for the first time and would love to hear some feedback on the course, what to expect as a single most likely playing with members, etc.

Cheers,

I wish I could help, but the "Elks" is one of the few courses around Calgary I've never played.

It's pretty hard on first timers, there are a few blind tee shots. Best advice is if you can't see the landing area, lay back.

played sirroco today. Have not played there in a couple seasons. Going to play the men’s open there later this month.

Shot 74 from the blacks. Ball striking is finally back to normal. And putting better since going to the claw grip.

Greens At sirroco are also kinda in rough shape. More winter kill then I was expecting and kinda slow for them.
