wonder if the courses will even cut the grass for 1/4 of the golfers that will be going through

Yup ... the only places you can golf down south is in Vulcan or Pincher Creek area.

 

Not sure, me thinks the same restrictions apply to pickle ball, too.

Played today, back nine start they were working on the greens, course was busy with 2-somes waiting on t-box, middle fairway & on green on just about every hole. Hit my new driver well for an old grey hair, best one today 284 yds, came home with same ball, shot 40/39 - 79, couple of birdies helped.  

 

With the rain we got they decided to punch/sand the greens, front 9 was a bumpy ride.

Shocker, a course owned by the Provincial government can stay fully open...

so, after the dust has settled a bit... all of the courses around me going with 2somes, but no same household restrictions.

Was golfing with a friend last night that works at the course, and we could see everywhere that 2somes were turning into 4somes. There is no marshal there past 3, so I said I wonder how many marshals they could hire for the cost of one or 2 fines.

Anyways, I said what I would do is tell public if they break the rules they will be kicked out, and members will be suspended until the covid restrictions are over. I mean, this is going to be some bad apples get it shut down for the whole province if people keep acting like this. After we all said how dumb the government is for not letting us play, they'd laugh if they had to shut it down because we can't follow their rules.

He was going to go to the gm and pro with this idea. see what happens.

Yeah, no kidding, where is this happening? The courses I have seen here in Edmonton are very strict about the rules. Singles or household only, no joining up. I will be pi$$ed if something happens and we get shut down even more.

For the duration of the new AHS restrictions (effective May 10, 2021) we will only be allowing:

2 some bookings (ie only 2 players per tee time)

 

SINGLES ARE ALLOWED TO BOOK (BY CALLING THE PROSHOP) ON THE DAY OF IF SPOTS ARE AVAILABLE.

 

PLEASE NOTE IF YOU ARE BOOKING FOR A TWOSOME AND ONLY SHOW UP AS A SINGLE YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THE 2 SPOTS OR WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PLAY

Played Mackenzie meadows today as a single. Played in 3 hours walking. 
 

think the weather scared come ppl off. But it was actually really nice out!

I think i might hit Speargrass up on Wednesday.

 

Played Lee Creek in Cardston today. No AHS restrictions as far as i could see. 4somes everywhere. Still managed to play in about 3 hours flat. Course was in not great shape tho. 

 

Going to Magrath tmr. Played it last week, AHS restrictions in place but really good spring conditions.

Speargrass wintered very well. Greens are lightning fast and very pure. Course is a bit on the brown side, could benefit from a couple days of rain. 

 

Booked D'Arcy Ranch, Muirfield and Speargrass for the long weekend. Hope the weather holds.

Speargrass greens are unreal right now. But yah, needs a few days rain to green up the fairways 

 

Strathmore was very green today. Greens awesome (5 island was shaggy though) 

 

my game sucked today. Worst round of the year so far..

Well if it makes you feel better, BallerNate, myself and an Ottawa resident did not make a single bogey today.  Although not for the reason we would want it to be so....

Yah it did. Greens were not as fast as they usually are at blue devil. They actually had some grass on them.

 

when it is breezy, swing easy! 
 

I should adopt that philosophy when it is calm to!

Cool morning but turned out to be a bty sunny day, very little wind 10C. Greens were in better shape after the 3/4" or 20 mm rain we got, played well shot 39/37 - 76 my lowest this season. Garmin G80 says my last 10 rounds are consistent & my Handicap went down to 9.3.  I believe that's mainly due to my new G425 Max, it's a bomber & seems to finds more fairways. Now got to figure out how to change my sig.
