Playing Golf in Frankfurt, Germany

I'm currently working on an assignment in Frankfurt, Germany for the next couple of weeks. I've found a couple of Golf Clubs from Google. 1. Are there any Golf WRX Members here in Frankfurt or near Frankfurt. 2. Has anyone played any of the courses in the Frankfurt area and can you provide recommendations? 3. If you are here and are available to play, would love to meetup over the weekend and play a Round or two.

 

I'm looking to play on Saturday and Sunday, while I have some downtime. Any tips, suggestions, comments, feedback, well wishes, is greatly appreciated.

IMO you can`t go wrong with Frankfurter GC (http://fgc.de) , GC Hanau-Wilhelmsbad (http://www.golfclub-hanau.de) or GC Neuhof (http://www.golfclubneuhof.de). These are the best in the nearer Frankfurt area. Would recommend all of them.

 

GC Kronberg is nice, too, but to play on weekends you need an invitation from a member (at least it was).

Usually all of them will be very busy on weekends. You will need to book a tee time.

Newest 18-hole course in the area, haven`t played there yet, but heard good things about it, tricky greens.

Good golf course, nothing special but fun to play. Usually they have very good greens.

Have 12-24 layovers in and out of FRA a couple times a year and was curious of the golf here as well. In Germany are the courses mostly public or private? What is considered the best course in Frankfurt area? Thanks.

Nearly all of the courses are private, not much public courses here, but there is a Driving Range in Frankfurt with a 9 hole short course.

Having said that it`s no problem to book a tee time for a fee on almost every club considering you have a handicap certificate.

Played Kronberg, but it was over 30 years ago. Very enjoyable experience, but it wasn't a particularly memorable course.

Ive got a 12 hours layover in Frankfurt (by design as I will have my clubs with me) Where would be the best suggestion for a game of golf? Happy to catch a train somewhere if required (+/- 2 hours each way)
