What's the best golf training aid you've ever used?

Orange whip...exposes my "hit from the top" mentality. First time I swung it, I was OTT.

Is there a training aid that can help me to get more shallow in the DS? Would the Orange Whip or SKLZ gold flex help? There are some good drills on youtube, but they require hitting balls at range. I would like to get something I can do/swing at home that would help me ingrain the feeling of getting more shallow.

I got bruised left arm when I tried first few days because of early release and scooping motion.

Now I consitently hit down about 4 degree for 7 iron.

I play early every weekend, ans always struggle to get a good stretch, seems I am 4-5 holes in before I am making a full turn.

 

In this regard, warming up with the MISIG has been a huge help for me. I have been hitting much better tee balls off #1 and #2.

Tempo and sequencing seem mildly important. I'm interested.

A lot of guys don't know this, but 17 of the top 25 players in the world have and use a DST Compressor to warm up with including two of the best ball-strikers on Tour: Henrik Stenson and Justin Rose.... it helps shallow you out and compress the ball. I am not sure why the company doesn't promote these more aggresively, but the best players in the world sure know about the value of it. You see them on the range a lot at Tour events.

it promotes you to to keep a nice bowed wrist without a flipping motion which coupled with a good body pivot should help shallow out the swing....

Training aids are just softer versions of electric shock. You'd be better off if you just stuck your hand in a bug zapper every time you hit a bad shot.

The Power Angle.... keeps you turning your shoulders and not just swinging your arms.

1. Swing Coach. I was very fortunate to find a coach that motivated me and kept me focused for many years. Still one of my best friends after 15+ years.

2. Quntic Putting System. Forced me to address a glaring lack of consistency in my putting stroke. There were a few "training aids" like a yardstick and a Visio Putting Template that helped. But it was seeing my real putting numbers that finally pushed me to fix things.

Tucking my sleeves in to my arm pits to feel what a body release feels like opposed to a hands release of the club.

For me I'd say it was a practice bunker. I practically found my bread and butter short game stroke hitting in and out of a bunker. When I was done I had pretty good control over power and effective loft through the ball. This probably happened 20 years ago, and my short game is never far away from working really well.
