Haus of Grey Sample Sale - ends April 27

Haus of Grey's sample sale is up again for 48 hours. The price is a little higher this year, but its still a great deal on what I think are some of the better shirts. As in the past sizes are limited with large being the biggest, but this year they have sample packs of polos, shorts, pants, outerwear, T-shirts, hats, and women's collections.

 

If you've never tried Matte Grey you should give them a look. The company was founded by Travis Johnson who also was co-founder of TravisMathew which he sold. IMO the Matte Grey shirts are better than TM as I think TM has slipped some in the past couple of years. As the name of the company suggests if you are looking for bright colors or flashy prints you wont find them here. The polos are normally $70+ and they are around $25 on sale.

I've done well with the MG sample sales over the last few years. There's definitely something that tweaks me about having to pay shipping on every order. Not sure why, guess I'm just used to anything over $100 or $150 to ship free like it does from seemingly everywhere else.

I picked up a set of pants and thought the same thing. First time trying the MG sample so it still feels like a good deal.

I've bought from MG and the samples in the past. I like the shirts, outerwear and shorts I received. But I'm sitting this one out - I received some duplicates and very similar items last time so I'll wait until the next go round after they have cleared out this stock (hopefully).

How's the fit on these?

 

Its a bit on the larger side. Ive only used their polos however.

 

I feel the fit of the polos are a very small bit slimmer vs. brands like Greyson, RLX, TM. Only slightly slimmer in the body, but shorter in the sleeves. I'd say polos run slimmer than Nike, Adidas, and UA regular cuts, and noticeably slimmer than the normal fits of Peter Millar, Polo Golf, and FJ.

I bought the 3 pack and they arrived today. The quality of the fabric is top shelf, and while two of these are not what I would have picked if given a choice I think the white with grey yoke and sleeves looks really good. I'm pretty much white shirt only in the summer here as it can get really hot so I'm happy with it. The lighter striped shirt is also good for hot weather, but the dark shirt will only get cooler month play.

 

 

I really like the fit of the Matte Grey shirts, and if you've never tried them you should. They have the sales at least once a year and like I said a shirt that sells for $70 can be had for around $25.
