Sung Hyun really shut up the haters evidently. It's like a ghost town in here.

I didn't even get to watch the DVR. I didn't even know who won until just a second ago.

I guess I have not noticed many, but may have missed it. She is easily one of my favorites, with In Gee, Jin Young and Brooke. She needed that win, hope it propels her to another Major this season.

I'm fairly certain the gentleman with the umbrella is the good Doctor. I chatted with him at the KPMG last year.

Are you going to KMPG again this year?

Yes, I'll be at the KPMG all day on Friday.

Anybody else notice when they interviewed Kathy Whitworth she wasn't necessarily overflowing with praise for the golf course when they asked her about it? From her comments it seems she feels the facility overall wasn't really ready to host an event. Seems like she maybe likes the course though. Wasn't really a ringing endorsement of the venue.

I have to imagine that there's a learning curve when hosting a tournament for the first time. When the PGA moved the BMW from Cog Hill to Conway Farms there were a number of complaints about the facility from us spectators.

At least you’re consistently ridiculous

Look that's just my little joke, based on an observation. I fully realize that nobody else thinks it's funny. Do me a favor--put me on ignore, that way you can stop nitpicking at my attempts at humor and never be bothered by me again.

Did you see this ********* from Ron Sirak....it's simply just a rehash of the event...nothing new and he doesn't go on to explain why Namdalla will be a star for a long time...as per the title of the article.

Every time a pro wins...the media drools for 36 hours.....the winner will be the next FUTURE STAR, etc, etc....Jason Day is getting the same treatment....let's wait and see if he makes the cut at The Players.

Seem like the only good reporter on the LPGA might be Beth Ann Baldry....though some of her reports are just LPGA drama stuff.

Steve Eubank is ok...Randall Mell...major fail.

So, the entire field had to stay the entire weekend. Do you think the players that did not make the cut will get reimbursed for their expenses? Keeping in mind had they not made the cut normally they would have left Friday / Saturday.

The only people I have sympathy for is the volunteers. How come in professional sports, where the participants are playing for huge prize money and a lot are already multimillionaires, not be able to afford to fully fund a tournament including everyone who helps to run it? Some of those who missed a pay-out here are multimillionaires too!

The LPGA and PGA support local charities. If the tours had to pay the workers, there would be less money going to the charities. Basically, the volunteers are donating their "salaries" to the local charities.

Yes, there are some questions regarding how much is really going to the local charities after expenses, but I think that's a discussion best served by another thread.

And then there are some tournaments in which the volunteers are expected to "pay" to volunteer. For a example, to volunteer for the CP Canadian Women's Open, volunteers are required to pay some $75 just to purchase their own volunteer uniform kit. It seems that one cannot be a volunteer without paying the $75 for the volunteer uniform kit upfront.

It was $50 for the Volunteers of America. A friend of mine worked the range. Got shirts, caps, tickets, free meals, etc.

Wife and I volunteered at the Web.com Tour Championship a few years ago when they played in this area. I think it was the same cost with the same "perks" but we also got a free round of golf at the course they played. Didn't bother us at all to "pay to volunteer".

Agree! Volunteers at all PGA and LPGA level tournaments ‘pay’ to volunteer, but for that you get one/two shirts, usually a jacket, cap or visor, meal vouchers for each day you volunteer, and - most valuable - tickets for each day of the tournament and extra tickets for practice rounds. Tickets to a USOpen or PGA are over $100, so for a big fan who wants to attend several days, it’s a bargain. The old GMO in Milwaukee (PGA) offered a free round of golf later in the season, and the US Open at Black Wolf Run offered a discounted round. Unfortunately Whistling Straits didn’t offer any golf for volunteers! I believe there’s no cost to volunteer for a Symetra Tour event in Milwaukee. Probably just want someone there.
