B330 RX - Is It Really That Long?

What have I missed? Never hit this ball before. Found one today playing a few extra holes and this ball is really long! A good 5-10 yards off the driver and at least a full club longer off the irons.

 

Was soft off the driver which I normally don't like but this "seemed" different. Granted, it didn't have that much spin on iron shots and didn't check all that well around the green. But it wasn't as bad as I though it would be.

 

Anyone playing this regularly? Normally play the Pro V1X but this ball has me intrigued.

Have been playing it regularly since 2016. Previously played V1x mostly. It’s long, low spin, and straight off the longer clubs, but offers solid approach spin but somewhat less greenside spin than balls regularly being played on tour.

 

Feel is subjective, but of the balls in its category (softer core urethane) I think it offers a meatier feel and more feedback than others.

Long and best part is you can usually find older models between $20-$25 a dozen. Great ball IMO. If I didn't have loads of K3, Ksigs and Srixons I got dirt cheap I would probably play this ball more often. That being said I have about 1.5 dozen in my stash I rotate in once in a while.

I've got some of these in the stash too and love them. They spin plenty for me and well struck short iron shots check up on the green nicely. Feel wise they are soft, which is what I like, but not mushy. A great ball.

Agreed! I stumbled into this ball by accident and haven't looked back. Thanks to great values on previous year balls, I currently have about 15 dozen stashed away in my golf closet. My driver swing speed is about 105 mph and the B330-RXS flat-out perform for me from tee to green.

I think it's a great all around ball. It stays under control. I played the B330-S for a long time and it's better, but at times, especially with wind, can get a little up there and out of control.

 

The regular B330, I'm not man enough to compress it and it would duck off to the right almost every time.

 

The RX seems to be the 'right' ball for me, though I should probably have another look at the S line again. I just picked up 12 dozen AAAA from lostgolfballs.com for a little over $100 shipped. I have gotten so many boxes of bridgestone balls from them over the last several years, I play too much / lose way too many balls ... couldn't imagine going to the store and paying $50 a box. Right into the woods...

I played the yellow RX for most of last year til I ran out of them. To me it is a great ball. I used the previous version so not sure on how the current one stacks up as I haven't tried them. Now I use the Chrome Soft's cause that is what I have!

I would never in a million years take 5 yards off the tee for less control around the greens. I find the RX/RXS to be uber soft feeling, which off my already soft putter face gives me almost no sensation of feedback.

Funny, I found the ProV1x to be a bit longer for my game. But when I played hickory, I played the RX because it was softer.

TP5X is the best ball ever produced in my opinion.

RX is a very good ball.... long off the tee and decent into the green. Plays a lot like an "x" ball just softer. I like it a lot off the tee!
