Refinishing Nike Method 001

I reached out to one of the top putter refinishing companies often talked about on these forums regarding a Nike Method 001 putter that I just purchased on a whim. The putter is in rough shape and I wanted to get it refinished but received a response today that because of the elastomer in the face of the putter, they cannot refinish it.

 

Does anyone have an experience with having a Method refinished? If I can't get it refinished, I will likely send it back. Thanks, all.

Wow your story is exactly the same as mine but I just happened to do the same thing 3 years later without checking here first…
 

Bought this 001 on a whim yesterday and heard back from Putter Spa and BOS that they cannot do the work because of the polymer fill in the grooves.

Yeah. It’s true. Not much you can do from re-finish point of view.

Can the polymer just be fully sandblasted away?

Ahhhh.......................the old "faux grooves" as Rory and Tiger discusses.  LOL
I've sent putters into BOS and told them I didn't want them to remill the face (didn't want the weight loss) and they were fine with that.  Wonder if you could go that route with them?

Any update on this front? I have a 001 with a nick in the topline I want to get refreshed.
