Looking at a new shaft.

I have been reading some old posts and was wondering if either of these shafts are built for someone with a quicker more aggressive transition. SS is right at 98-102.

From what I could dig up it sounds like someone like me needs to avoid soft butt shaft but beyond that I was a little uncertain.

Thanks in advance

I can't speak for the IZ shaft but I have been playing the TP 7x since last fall. My SS with the driver is in the 110-112 range and generally have a quick transition. I was never really a fan of GD shafts in the past but I have to say the TP is an awesome shaft. When I was trying to make a decision on shafts, I got on trackman and put the TP up against my Tensei Pro White, Tensei Pro Orange V2 and the Hzrdus T1100. The TP won hands down in terms of dispersion, spin, launch and distance. Not to say its better in every category in terms of design, just that it fit me the best.

I think both the IZ and TP are billed as higher launch shafts but I think the TP might be a lower spinning shaft.

I came from the DI to the Tp. Swing 107 avg with quick transition and the TP was much much better for me. The IZ, in my limited testing was a middle ground of the DI and the TP. Much better dispersion than the DI but still no TP.

Why don't you take these for a spin and see for yourself?

Tell you what, give us a call and we'll send you demos of both the IZ and GP in 60-stiff to try for a week. Just pay the shipping and write up a brief review of your experience here on GolfWRX?

Let us know!

Best,

I demoed the IZ, TP and DI in 6stiff from Shaft Shack with 10.5 Rogue Driver heads. Speak to Phil @shaftshack, he is very knowledgeable. Best thing I ever did for myself and my team. From Highest to Lowest Launch IZ, DI, TP. I ended up ordering the IZ in the rogue driver, the feel is great, best launch for me as I was looking for High Launch, low spin. My ss is 98-100 mph.

This is great info I’ve been looking for, I hit the iz in the rogue fairway and loved it.

I have experience with the DI, the TP, and the IZ. The TP feels very similar to the DI, only tighter and a bit lower launching. It still has that very pronounced load and kick of the DI that you can really feel and I've hit some of my longest drives with these shafts when I marry up to that kick. The problem for me with these shafts is that I'd occasionally have trouble timing that hard load & kick and accuracy would suffer.

In my experience the IZ feels different. It feels a little "crisper" and less "rubbery" than the others, yet still very smooth. The shaft loads in a more gradual and linear fashion and feels easier to time and swing consistently. The tip feels very stable yet it loads and launches effortlessly and keeps spin in check.

I'm using an IZ 6x in a TM M3 8.5 head and it's been a great combo. I think the IZ pairs very well with lower lofted heads.

Felt the same way. It’s like it’s one big piece instead of the DI kick
