Best app for live scoring

Looking at implementing a live scoring system for a 32nd annual stroke play event. What’s the best one out there?

I should also say there are about 100 golfers, so there’s really no way to have everyone download the app either. Is there one where only 1 member of a 4some can add scores if need be?

Golf gamebook actually works best if only one person per foursome enters the scores.

Just circling back on this. Is golf gamebook probably my best bet for 100 players and only one person entering scores?

Gamebook has a red vs blue function for that. The simpler your formats are, the better it works.

I recently did an 8 man golf weekend in Phoenix and built a pretty neat google sheet that acted as a live leaderboard:

 

Quick details as I can't access it at the moment:

- We played 4 v 4 Ryder Cup style over 2 rounds, and each foursome had a total of 3 points up for grabs (2 sets of 1v1 + a 2v2 better ball). We also had a cumulative single event in conjucntion.

- We did it all NET based off of handicaps and adjusted caps after the first round depending on how everyone did vs their cap (+2 to -2).

- Only one person per group needed the app and we entered gross scores per player and had the app calculate the rest.

- Each "card" (which was a sheet in the doc) displayed the current score for each match in that group

- We had a Live Leaderboard sheet that used Google Sheets 'filter' function to show the following:

1) Team vs Team score

2) Leaderboard for twosomes on the day

3) Leaderboard for individual score on the day

4) Leaderboard for individual score in total

 

It worked well as the "Leaderboard" updated as scores were entered. We did cash prizes for daily low individual, daily low twosome, overall low individual and Cup winners.

 

Admittedly it was a lot of work to set it up (I had the courses preloaded along with the hole indexes to drive the Gross-Net relationship), but it worked great as the only thing the guys needed to worry about was entering their gross score. Sure an actual app could likely do all the same, but I love this kind of stuff and it was cool to build it and see it in action.

 

We even had a series of "baseball cards" that displayed everyone's pictures, overall record, overall score, nicknames etc.
