Royal grips full cord

Have never played full cords but am looking for more grip and thinking about loosing my glove. Has anyone tried these? Price seems decent. I may just order one up to try before doing the whole set. Just looking for opinions. Thx

The main reason is I get sweaty hands and the tour velvets I usu6play get pretty slick during a round unless I'm constantly wiping them down. I feel the exposed cords would grip better in those situations. Also I work with my hands so I'm not to worried about them being to rough.

I’m not aware that Royal makes a cord grip (now or ever). Do you have info to the contrary?

it's on the golfworks website

I put this grip on a driver, and I really like it. I plan on putting these grips on all my clubs soon.

Thread revival here:

See GolfWorks has the weight for these at 56 g, and the standard size for the Lamkin Full Cord is 50 g and the Golf Pride Tour Velvet BCT is 52 g. Is the extra 4-6 g an issue with anyone whose used these?

After the initial post on this grip two years ago I tried them. Great grip. Made from actual rubber, not the synthetic rubber most everyone else uses. The swingweight might go down a tenth or two but its not anything I really feel. What I feel is the grip has excellent traction in dry or wet conditions. Also very durable like the original Royal grip. One thing the website doesn't say is these are the non-taper or minimum taper shape like several other popular grips. I like that feel. Basically maintenance-free. When I played Golf Pride grips after a month or two I would have to be constantly wiping them down after several shots to revive them. It was like the grip had died. Plus the price on the Royal Linktech Cord is super cheap ($5.00) compared to many of todays grips at $10 - $12 each.

I started playing these last year and they are much better than Lamkin or Golf Pride cord grips.  Easy on the hands (I don't wear a glove) and long lasting. After two seasons they hardly have any wear marks.   For $5.00 a grip they are an absolute steal.

Thanks! Glad to hear they're working out for you. I've been reading that they have less taper, which I prefer and that way I don't feel like I have to be as precise adding progressive tape to the lower hand.

Did you ever end up giving these a try? Really curious about them vs. offerings from GP and Lamkin

Yeah I picked up one for my Driver because I was installing a new shaft into my driver that was uncut. I think it's great. It is reduced taper, but I don't mind that seeing as I hate a hook. Can't beat the price and I'd concur that they're easier on the hands. They're more like the UTx Cord than the traditional Crossline Full Cord.

Thanks for the feedback and good to know on the UTx/Crossline comparison. Looking forward to trying them out.

I just got the set in from Golfworks. I just went for it as they are "13 for the price of 9" at the moment. I can already tell they will be solid.  I'll have to mess with tape layers a bit to get the right size, as I normally play midsize or standard w/ a good # of wraps

I’m so glad I stumbled on this thread as they were never on my radar until I read that they were reduced taper.  Decided to try out the 13 (buy 9 get 4) and played a round today with it on my driver.  Have to say I’m extremely impressed and found my new grip.  It’s a firmer feeling grip with a tremendous amount of traction without tearing up the hands.

Today was a great day to test out as it was in the mid-50s, windy and very dry. I have dry hands so this time of year some grips feel slick to me, especially my Tour Velvet +4.  But I had no issues with traction and loved the way it felt. If you’ve played the Lamkin Z5 it feels like the corded portion in terms of traction and grip and I loved the Z5 the Tour Taper was discontinued a while ago.  I included pics comparing the 2.

Lastly I love the reduced taper.  Size size they feel just like the Z5 Tour Taper or the TV+4.  Have definitely found my new grip.
