Graphite Design Question

Question for the GD experts, more as a place to start rather than an armchair fitting.

 

I have been enjoying the MT tipped 1” in my driver but often times feel it can be slightly loose. Likely my swing, but can’t help feel like I’m leaving a little something on the table despite some bombs. Most time my trajectory is fairly high with not much roll. I have a DJ I am testing in my 3 wood and have had good luck so far, I like the high trajectory and seem to spin it ok.

 

The question is for my driver what would a slighter tighter GD feeling shaft be to try? I am curious about the BB or GT, but curious if anything else would be a good place to start.

 

I tried a DI earlier this season but felt like I didn’t spin it enough, thus the MT experiment. Any experience with the other GD shafts that may be helpful?

Let me add that my ball flight with the MT is fairly straight, it seems to be a release issue where sometimes i yank the shot left when going after it. I like that shaft reacts to the swing I put on it, but was curious more specifically is how the MT might compare to the BB?

If the DI didn't give you enough spin, that issue would likely be exacerbated by the AD BB. The GT may be worth a look, but it could also be worth exploring some other options outside of the GD brand. Mitsubishi has some really solid offerings in the Diamana, Kuro Kage, and Tensei line. Aldila has some good offerings with the Xtorsion, 2KXNV, Rogue, and ATX lines, and of course, Fujikura has some good solid entries in the Atmos, Pro, and Speeder lines. Best thing to do would be to work with a reputable fitter and keep an open mind and avoid trying to pigeonhole yourself into one particular brand or line. Heck, I love Diamanas, but in my driver, I just get better results with a Rogue. Sometimes you have to take the recommendations of a fitter even though it may not be your preference.

AD BB is a relatively stout, low launch, low spin shaft for the Graphite Design lineup.

 

AD TP and AD IZ are two great shafts that are new in the last couple of years. in order of launch low to high, it would go AD TP - AD DI - AD IZ. Not sure if you're someone who needs added launch or not.

 

I would demo these if at all possible, or even go the ShaftShack route and rent them for a week or so to get an idea. I find all Graphite Design shafts to have certain individual characteristics - so it's best to never self fit if possible.

 

@ $300+ a pop it can get pretty expensive :)
