How much does your local club charge for a bucket of balls for the range?

My local muni charges $9 for a bucket of balls. I thought that was pretty high, but as I thought about it, they only charge $20 for 9 holes, which is very reasonable in my opinion, as its a decent place to play. My thought is they jack the price of a range session up in exchange for reasonable rates to play the course. But i could be way off on that.

 

So that got me interested, how much the clubs you go to charge for a bucket of balls?

$6 unlimited range at one place. $20 for a huge basket or $12 for a smaller basket at another place I go. I have been opting for the $20 huge basket lately because the place has really good short game areas and all grass range. The $6 unlimited is almost always off matts. I go there when I take my 4 yr old to hit balls on Sunday evenings.

5 with golf 14 if you only want to use the range gets you unlimited balls range has a 100 yard practice hole 2 chipping greens with bunkers and a full driving range with grass and artificial turf hitting areas.

Mine's $7.00 for 35 at the local muni, but there's a driving range/mini golf place like 5 miles from me so if i'm strictly doing a range day then i just go there, i think it's $8.00 for like 60.

This thread won't do you a lot of good unless you tell us where you live. Lots of regional variation in everything golf cost related and urban vs. rural makes a big difference too.

 

In northern NJ, relatively standard rate is $5 or so for a "warmup bucket" of 25 balls if a course has a range. Large bucket is $10-$12 and Jumbo $15-$18.

In Italy the price is around 1,50/2,00 € for a bucket with 25/30 balls.

some driving range have even 1,00€ for 25 balls.

My GC just rised the price to 2,50 for 30 balls.

I think eventually I will setup some hitting station at my house. Many people have developed elbow issues though from hitting on their mat all the time so I've been hesitant but would save me a bunch of money in long run. I spend about a 100 a month in range balls during season, probably 600 a year

I belong to a club, the range is included in monthly dues.

 

My last club, it was optional, extra $200/year, or by the bucket, I think it was $5 for small (~30 to 40 balls) and $7.50 for large (~70 balls), and guests had to pay by the bucket.

I think they're normally $6 for 60 at my preferred heated range and $5 for 54 balls at my pro's municipal course's range. But i always purchase packages so I can get the cheapest deal, for the heated range they're $4 for 60 and my other place i pay around $2.25 for 67 balls.

 

This is all in canadian funds on mats, not grass range. so about $2 USD and $1 USD respectively

Hong Kong. It's the nearest range to me, so unless I want to spend 40 minutes on public transport going to a public range, it's the only choice I have. The range itself is a 220 yard long lake with floating flags and balls. The green fee at the weekend is about US$570 and the course is a bit meh from what I have heard. Nice views though.....

It's cheaper for me to fly to Vietnam and play there for the weekend. But with income tax at 15%, I will be retiring early and buying a holiday pad in St Andrews one day!

They have key fob system you can pay a monthly fee...it never works or they don’t even know their web site advertises it lol

Included in the round. They used to charge a couple bucks but changed it last year. I’ve enjoyed the change and I don’t hit ball before every round. Will be interested to see if they keep going that route.

 

I know every course that I’ve played where it’s included I’ve felt better about the course. It’s always disappointing to be about to play a nice course and they charge you a high fee to hit scuffed up balls that can slice and hook on the same shot.

I've played there. It is OK. I think we paid around $450 a couple of years ago though. It would be a better deal for you to drive into Shenzhen and go to Mission Hills. That's where I've played most of my golf in the area. HK is over the top for expensive golf.
