2018 NBA Season

Yeah that part I understand. Certain teams super teams really had no affect on as they had many many issues prior and still presently. But I can totally see it really stunting up and coming teams more than normal as it may tack on some years to ascend. But then again, games aren’t won on paper so you still could have a punchers chance.

 

Look at the landscape of the league. You have 5 all stars in their prime, two of which are probably the two greatest shooter ever.

 

You have an aging cp3 with injury issues in Houston. You have an aging lebron surrounded by sketchy shooters in LA.

 

Where is the competition ? The Celtics have to add kawhi to the current lineup to even be competitive.

 

On paper it’s Dubs easily. Still have to go out and do it, avoid injury etc.

I mentioned the Cards. Packers were bad for a long time before they signed Reggie White. Two playoff seasons in 25 years or something like that.

 

In the Super Bowl era, the Steelers are the class of the league.

 

Not disagreeing with that, but thought the Packers at least deserved the mention.

They likely don’t need to avoid injuries is the thing. But it’s all good, if the Lakers had that squad I would sound like you. I still would not want Durant though. I’ll never forget his tweet about “going at these guys”. Lol

This is terrible for the NBA. Even if you're a warriors fan, are you even excited for this? It's like Alabama playing division 3 schools for an entire season. I hate super teams. And no I'm not a butt hurt fan of another team, I don't really have an NBA team. I just like COMPETITIVE games.

 

Also, not near enough mention of the STL Cards or Green Bay Packers as greatest franchises. ESPECIALLY the Cardinals. Considering their market and ability to spend, there's an argument they're a better all time franchise than the Yankees, and those two teams are 1 and 2 imo.

 

It took a Chris Paul injury for the Dubs to crawl out of that series loss. The Cavs beat the historic season warriors. The games still need played. The NBA has not been competitive throughout for years, just the top tier. You tell me what’s worse, super teams or teams admitting to tanking?

 

The Warriors also did not have their Finals MVP who by the way comes off the bench. Lol does that help put it into prospective.

Lol what do you guys want me to say??? I hate my team is winning titles!? I get it, the Patriots irritate me they are right there each year, but if you can't beat them you have to get better.

 

I guess I don't think it's that big of a deal, 1. Because it's my team 2. Alot of their core was homegrown 3. I have no say in it 4. Still have to play the games.

Its starting to be like late 90s , early 2000 Major leagues. There's 4 teams worth watching and everything else is completely inconsequential

A 60% boogie is still way better than the combo of McGee, Zaza, and West from last season. They don’t even need to play cousins more than 15 min a game when he gets back. Good luck switching everything on defense when he can absolutely bully a guard or smaller wing in the post

 

I get all the hate but I’m definitely enjoying this run immensely when you realize the warriors used to draft guys like Vonteego Cummings, Ike Diago, Joe Smith, Todd “we could’ve drafted Kobe” Fuller, etc... oh and we used to make trades like Mitch Richmond for Billy Owens, and Chris Webber for Tom Gugliatta. Basically 2 decades of mismanagement, bad signings, cheap ownership and clueless front offices. I consider those years as karma paid for the run they’re currently on.

This is exactly what I came here to say this morning. There was a funny exchange on twitter last night. CJ McCollum reached out to Cousins like "don't do this, we have to talk." A fan tweeted back and said you should be talking to your GM and not Boogie.

Well he went public with that so if teams did offer him something, we'd hear about it today guaranteed.

pretty much a giant EFF YOU to the league since no one put an offer on the table for him.

 

But there wasn't a team with enough cap outside of the rebuilding teams which he didn't want to go to. And there were no incentives for teams to do a sign and trade. He had no other viable option if he wanted to win.

With boogie yeah. I mean I posted yesterday that if I was the Lakers I wouldn't offer him anything long term. My guess is he got no multi year offers so just said F you league I'll rehab my image with GSW

No chance for my Bull brigade next year. Not even going to watch the NBA. East is a joke, albeit the sixers and celts. West is stacked with talent. NBA angling for a Laker/Celtic final or Warrior/Celtic or Sixers final. I'll stick to NCAA basketball.

I doubt this team will go anywhere close to 70 wins. They will be on cruise control and limit minutes to avoid injuries. The big picture is 6-7 rings in a decade.

Curry might play 25 minutes a game this year. Durant might do a podcast with Bill Simmons during a game
