Would love to know what heel shafted putter he practices with at home.

 

In an interview on CBS today I believe he said he practices with an 8802 at home

Why did he not go see Scoty at his shop or have him come and help him find what he needs? $?

Seems odd that Cameron is not involved..

Something I find interesting about his Ardmore putter is that is has a stepped shaft that has really long steps just like the .355 YSC stepped shaft that he uses in his Cameron and came stock in Cameron’s in the 90’s. I don’t know for sure the taylormade hosel diameters but I would bet they were .370. So I’m guessing that Tiger didn’t just randomly grab this off the tour truck and say “hey, slap a ping man grip on this. I’m gonna try it out for a bit!”

 

Looks like to me that Tiger put in a request to have this made to match up with his Cameron.

Just like his irons. When they release it , it will be a Ardmore 3 but won’t be anything like the one hehas. From shaft to color to insert im sure it’s all different than any Ardmore out there.

I would bet tiger uses any putter he wants to. And to @Sanders - What reason would there be for him to ask Titleist to make him a putter when he has access to TM and any putter he wants? TM could literally make him anything he wants and they are paying him so......

Yep and it's mainly because of cost to produce the putter, prob cheaper to use different insert etc because of tooling/machines they already have setup to create mass parts and putters

You would be surprised. Taylormade doesnt want to have one of their big guns with another companies sticks in their bag; its not good for business. If Tiger is using his trusty old scotty, then it doesnt really hurt their brand because he has used that puttter forever, but if he got a new scotty instead of a taylormade, it tells the average joe, taylormade putters suck. If Tiger was wasnt such a big name, theyvcould careless.

Tiger said yesterday it was because the shaft was closer to the heel than his Scotty.

I’m not so sure it will. I’m the side of the fence that he will go back to the Scotty very very soon. Though his putting has dramatically improved, but I don’t know if the putter or a different adjustment still.

If he wins another major someday it wou,d be cool if he used this putter. Clay Long designed it along with the Response putter Jack used to win the 86 Masters. That would be a fun but obscure piece of history

He's made 78 feet in birdie putts today. All over 8 feet... Several bombs from 20ft+.

 

Not to shabby at all. I think we will see this in the bag for the Open.
