Honestly I wanted to like the TC tour driver more than the STW2 but that wasn’t the case. STW2 was better for me than the TC Tour

I’m using the TC Tour, but that is just for adjustability and shaft changeability (I have bad ADHD).  The StW2 is an outstanding head.  I have 2 of them and don’t plan on selling them in case I ever change my mind.  I love the muted sound and soft feel off the head.  The price of a new StW2 at just over $100 is incredible.

Has anyone played both the TS1 and 699 Pros? Looking for some opinions. Thanks

I played 699 bigger version of the pro . I ended up returning them with in there 60 day period. Customer service is great.

I have a 7 iron of the TS1 and it’s just nice crispy clean. The 699 pro are 3 degrees stronger, hollow body cast iron that is injected. They are rocket launchers.

The TS-1 sole is 100x better through the turf than the 699 pro, in my opinion, having hit both.

i can’t imagine you could measure a difference in Forgiveness between the two irons.

Saw these in the GW forum.  Another well executed design from GW.  However, was anticipating there would be a WS 58*/60* like the M+ heads.  Apparently, that's not going to be the case.  Would be useful in certain conditions that I face on a couple regular rota courses.  At this point, only speculation how the design attributes differentiates the Max from the TSW.  Other than the obvious.

I was loving the playability of the M Series + so I'm certain I will love these. Have to say they just killed it in the looks Dept. Love how these look. Plus the ability to dial in swing weight is a huge feature without adding lead to the hosel.

Bottom picture looks like a 30* lie angle; I do like the look with the toned down logo.  Wonder what MAX 0.90 means?

If by WS you mean "wide sole" I think Britt said there would be a wide sole in lofts 54 and up.  Sorry if that's not what you meant.

And, I think someone at Golfworks is monitoring this thread.  The minimalist Maltby logo is stellar!

Yes, wide sole.  The Max sole widths mentioned in the GW forum were .90" and 1.05" only.  The discontinued M+ series, in addition to these widths, also had a WS 1.20".  For reference, the TSW's are 1.07".  Curious if there will be a substantive sole grind difference between the two.  The details to be  revealed once released.  And someone gets their hands on one.

Assuming they have lighter weights,...the ability to go longer in length, without a really heavy head, is a great addition.  Longer wedges are a lot more popular now

I made one up with the 14° head specifically with a customer in mind.

I took some data on it compared to the KE4 TC. Of course given the change in loft I was not able to get as much ball speed out of the 890 head but it was an extremely low spinning head. Paired with an Avalon 5 which is a 50 g shaft. Felt like a throw back head. Explosive off the face. Just felt like it leaped out there. Controllable and easy to hit. Gave it to the customer and I told him to hit it with out looking at the bottom of the club.

He was playing an 8.5° Cobra and insisted he needed that low of loft to control it. Most of his shots never got higher than 20'. Long story short he is hitting a beautiful looking ball now that flies and lands as it should. Instead of 200 yard worm burners.

He was blown away at the 14° of loft. He is getting an easy 225-240 which for him is huge.

In my own Testing I was seeing 2100 -2300 RPMs of spin. Great club head. One of these days I want to make up an M890 12° as a fairway finder. Plus in person the flat black is very easy to look at.

Sounds interesting. Maybe I'll try a 12° for myself.
