Had a chance to hit the stw2 driver yesterday.

Some good drives but some real bad ones as well.

Find it very loud at contact compared to my gamer, Cally fusion.

Anyhoo, need more time with the stw2.

With that weight port you could very easily put some yarn inside the head. That might mute it down a little

Yea if you don’t hit the sweet spot it’s sounds like a aluminum bat.

I follow the Mobile club maker on YouTube and he had a recent video on hot melt and how the pros often use it to mute or tune the sound of heads to their liking, he also had a shout out to Maltby recently highlighting the affordable quality golf club components.

I played again today with the 890 14* and found it to be a satisfying up to date sound that never brought my attention away from the performance which is exceptional, I prefer it over the STW2 that I have gamed as well. again Popeye nailed it.

Incidentally, are there any more reports or reviews on the ISO-T driver. I’d love to try this club, but it’s a cost factor.
My KE-4 TC is still not treating me well.
thanks!

I've spent a ton of time with the ISO-T in Testing and play. When it's on it a rocket ship🚀. But when I'm off it can be punishing. I'll call it a better players head....

If you were going to try one go for the M890. It might be the sleeper in the catalog.

I’ve never tried the ISOT but have only heard reviews that it’s low spin and not nearly as forgiving.

@Popeye64 might be able to give you more feedback on the ISO T

Isn't it about time Golfworks had a 20% off sale for their custom shop? Like they had last year.

Maybe biz is too good now to have such a sale.😆

I asked about that a couple of months ago, the CSR told me they have so many shortages it’s unlikely they will do that anytime before winter.

What is going to make supply chain even worse is.. some provinces in China are back in lockdown trying to get covid back under control. So some factories are shut down now for an indefinite amount of time. So I would be shocked if any discounts happen for a long time.

I believe you are correct, lots of shutdowns and there doesn’t seem to be any plan to get freight through our ports any faster.

I built an M890 10° with an old T6 shaft that was fairly stout and at a high 60g. When I took it straight to the course I felt the ball was falling out of the air. Just couldn't get it to Go!!

I took it home and immediately reshafted with a 50g Pro TSl. I went to the range with my gamer Pro HBL 60 and  Fuji Ventus Blue in KE4 TC heads.

I didn't have a great swing going but I have to say that the M890 ran head to head with the KE4s. The Ventus Blue put out a hair better numbers between the KE4 heads. But it is a half inch longer.

The M890 took a while to get used to. I had to play it closer to the toe but was rewarded to a straight to a slight draw. It really didn't seem to like heel strikes. Another plus,, l was getting a very high smash factor with the M890.

I do miss the ability to swap out shafts at will, like a KE4 but it still has the weight port. Definitely... the M890 is a viable option.

Feel wise I liked how the 14° M890 felt a lot better. That was the crushed it, screaming off the face flight. Both versions felt better than the KE4. Comparing old data from the 14° 890 to the 10° the ball speed was nearly identical but the 14°, I was swinging 3 mph faster. The higher launch just has that club landing shorter. I'm attributing the higher swing speed to me just swinging better. Have not been playing much lately.

So long story short I'll bring both the 890 and the KE4 on course and see what they do in play.. back to back. I go by feel with most of my clubs and with this close of performance I may be giving an early nod to the 890.

Nice review, I played my 890 14* three rounds over the weekend at 44 inches it is about 10 yards shorter than my 45.5” Bio Cell gamer, but I find that I can really go after it and hit fairways consistently. The sound and feel like you crushed it has made me confident standing over he ball with this club resulting in lower scores. The glued hosel has its  benefits I am sure, but part of the reason I have stuck with the Bio cell is the ability to swap out shafts. It leaves me wondering how it would perform with a longer shaft. One of the fun things about the 14* is I hit it pretty successfully of the deck twice, and can still flight it down off the tee if needed.
