If I go the i500 route, that is my combo. How do they feel? What kind of numbers?

 

It was weird when I tested the P790 vs the i500 I was getting way more spin than most but did not get to hit Steelfibers in the i500. Only had the DG105 at that time. Will be going in on Friday to hit SF in the i500.

Would like to hear more about this iron with stock PING graphite shafts, Recoil in particular in term of distance, trajectory, sound and feel. I’m used to PING hollow irons as I have g400 crossovers in my bag, is the i500 trajectory, feel and sound somewhat similar to the crossovers?

It will be a while yet for the i500 to be available here in Bangkok but I am very much interested in it.

Currently play s55 and i20 irons with Steelfiber i80CW R flex but with aging and health issue, would like to gain back the distance loss in the past few years. Very much interest in the i500 with Power spec loft to keep trajectory in check with Recoil shafts. I understand that the Recoil trajectory is quite high hence the Power Spec loft.

Appreciate any info you can provide.

I was informed yesterday that there was a backlog of orders and mine wouldn't be fulfilled until next week. I also only ordered a 3 and a 4 iron so I could see them pushing my order to the bottom. Hopefully everyone has their full sets in hand today.

Mine were ordered early and order placed as soon as it was open. I requested heavy swing weight so it could have seen a slight delay. Mine shipped yesterday. Hope to see them by the end of the week.

I'm considering either the i210 or the i500s, coming from G25 with C Tapers in them.

 

I'm wondering if the i500 will be more like my G25 in terms of distance and height, but of course more demanding and less forgiving.

I pick mine up this afternoon from PGASS. They already had them in stock when I was there Sunday.

 

Oh, and I plan to put them in play tomorrow, no range session or anything to get used to them first. Probably not the smartest thing to do for my score tomorrow.

Could be. I don't know if PXG can be gotten locally here. I don't even know if I'd want to hit them. They are so far out of my price range, it isn't even funny. I don't want to inadvertently fall in love with something I know I can never have.

So $50 plus $175? I see that standard pricingis $175 for steel shafts and $190 for graphite.

For those buying i500s, are you specifically requesting swing weights or are you taking your chances with standard which I assume is D1. I may go D1 to D3 from 5 iron to pitch or perhaps d1 to d2 with 5-6 d1, 7-8 d1.5, and 9p d2. Any thoughts on this strategy as to not leave to chance.

 

In reality, it's almost impossible to notice that. If anything, go with the whole numbers.

Go to TGW.com, select the custom tab for the i500 irons, the upgrade price is $40, which makes them cost $202.50 per club

Plus a grip switch throws everything off.

 

With that said, whichever I order (i500 or i210) I'll request the SW higher. I had the I200 with the Modus 105 at the D1 swingweight and hated them.

Picked up the box of clubs, got home and opened 'em. The label on the outside of the box clearly said Senior flex. The shafts were the Recoil F3, Regular. even the tag inside the box from Ping said R shafts. PGATSS and Ping Rep trying to expedite the correct set. Disappointed in the delay in putting them in play. Ping's fault, not PGATSS.
