I'm not loving the lines in the cavity, but let's be honest. The whole back is going to be covered in lead tape if the swingweights are off as much as my 790s were.

Sorry, but I just don't see a lot of pros putting a whole set of these in their bags. Fail by TM in the looks department on this one. Sad to see because they really surprised me with what they have put out these last couple of years. We shall see, but I see the tour pros sticking with 750's, or the MB's, or some even the 770's, TM will hook them up with that. These things look almost identical to the Razr X forged irons, not the first time that has happened. Over the last several years, in my opinion, There have been a lot of Callaway and TM irons look very close to each other, especially in the GI and SGI departments.

 

If one already has one of the current P series irons, I cannot see why you would switch except to have something new and shiny...Oh yeah, I do know why.

I was hoping for no gaudy badges on this one but TM didn’t listen. Was hoping for more of a cleaner look too but TM failed to deliver..

Badge doesn’t look gaudy at all imo. Not sure why so many people show so much concern over something they can’t even see when the club is behind the ball.

I don't think the badge looks gaudy. I did like the clean look of the P750/770, but I don't have a problem with these. I'm definitely interested to see how they perform.

 

If I had to guess, I would say the badge is probably a lighter material for more perimeter weighting.

Not at all gaudy. Simple lines all running parallel/on the same plane... No odd shapes/nooks created by the cavity... No fine details mixed in with bold details for an unbalanced look... I like the look.

I'll reserve final judgement until I have a chance to see them in person, but my initial reaction is decidedly "meh." The problem for me is that the P750/P770 design is absolute perfection to my eyes, so any deviation is going to look worse by default.

Cant wait to see pictures from all angles and reading about the exact techs, I got my hopes of how it will be but lets see.

 

How would you compare it to an 718 AP2? More forgiving in the longer irons and the same in shorter or?
