No .355 models. Either drill out the hosel on the head to .370 or sand the tip of the shaft to .355 taper.

I have been playing these for a couple of seasons now. I have been very happy with them. They do not feel stout to me; I would describe them as solid feeling with an appropriate kick at impact when loaded properly. They do not feel loose either. I would recommend them highly.

A little bump to keep this thread going. Did you get these built and if so how have they performed for you? Mainly interested in how the standard 95 holds up if you get after it as I have only played the 95 TS. Wondering whether I need the TS stiffness or would be fine with the standard 95.

I’ve enjoyed them but if had to do it over I would probably lean towards the TS model. They don’t play quite as stout as my Steelfiber 95’s. The feel is smooth and they are definitely consistent. The build went well however I did end up using tungsten rubber tip weights. Keep in mind I prefer my irons in the D4 range.

Thanks. Was toying with getting a set of the standard 95s in stiff and tipping them to get them stiffer, but I don’t know where that would put them in relation to the 95 tour specs. I like the black graphics fine, but the IP finish offered on the standard is a beauty.

How is everyone doing with these? Im looking into the 95 VS 95ts as well. Fight a pull/hook when I really lean on it.

Currently playing amt white s300 in King forged Tec blacks. Love 8-p, lose it as the weight decreases in the long irons.

Hit my 8 iron about 160, comparatively short, aggressive swing/transition.

Will be getting some better numbers soon but any insight you guys have would be great!

Update,

Went with stiff 95i ts 5-6 irons, 115i ts 7-p.

Really cool experiment, they just feel tighter through the whole set from club to club.

As noted above, prior miss was a strong pull or hook. Changed to a slight push (likely a remnant of the compensatory aiming for 2 seasons).

Flight is more penetrating as well. Really cool experiment. Only drawback is the price, if I hadn't won these I don't think I'd be dropping 400$ to buy them even though I love them.

I have a Maltby TS-1 7 iron shafted with the 95 stiff flex on the way in the mail right now. I am extremely curious to see how this shaft plays, it's standard iron length, no hard or soft stepping. I currently game light weight made to spec true temper regular flex shafts, should will likely be a step up in firmness and hopefully a more penetrating ball flight, my current setup spins a lot and can get lost in the wind.

Bumping this thread for any users out there, I am very interested in the 115 Stiff and can't find anywhere within 50 miles that has them. Would anyone give me a comparison to any current shafts for feel, kick, stiffness to stated flex. I would be building them myself and installing in a 21 APEX pro combo which are .370 so I have options to HS or SS as needed.

Thanks for any help

Kind of surprised no one is playing this shaft. I found a place to buy one and will put it in the 21 APEX combo 8 iron and see what happens.

I'm playing 115 tour spec stiff 7-p. Love them. I believe they are mid and tip stiff with a (relative) soft butt section. Similar to DG correct?

Id like to hear what you think Jim!

Love them, dispersion is fantastic, feel is great, can tell exactly where on the face I hit every shot but without the vibration issue.

Tbh I also really like my 95 ts stiff 5/6 almost a little more although the weight loss gets me sometimes.

I'm shocked no one seems to want to talk about these. Why do we think that is?? Fujikura have been up there in graphite shaft manufacturing for some time.

These look fantastic.  Had hopes more would sell me on them.  Loved all the initial reviews and almost bought these but went with a stock offering if Recoils for my mizuno irons.

I am playing Nippon 950 neo's in reg. now (another experiment) and want to go heavier and stiffer, I seem to be having a real hard time timing them OR I just can't get past the terrible iron swing I have developed chasing Driver distance.

I have been playing 95 gr graphite shafts (paderson, Xcaliber) for a while and the iron game was pretty strong. But these Nippons are just a mystery to me, I pure one every now and then but really have no confidence over the ball and its killing my game. Handicap went from a solid traveling 9 to 12 and really don't deserve the 12 when I am hitting a lot of fairways and having 150 or less in and missing greens just about every possible way.

There have been some medical issues but that is no longer the problem, I play Fujikura Pro 2.0 6X in my woods and have always loved the feel so trying out the Fuji pro iron seems like a good bet. I am hoping I have gotten a bit stronger and the lighter weight is now a problem, but honestly I am just searching for an answer that I can't find on the range with the present setup.

In response to your question about why no one is talking about them, it is a mystery but following along in the 7 iron distance thread there are a ton of big hitters here and I imagine Graphite is not really on their radar.

Being in the over 60 crowd hitting a 7 iron 180 -200 is no longer even remotely possible, that is the odd thing about the Nippon 950's I can get that out of the 5 iron at times and the 4 iron even has gone over 200 but not with any sort of consistency needed to score and those are par 5 layups mostly where the swing is just free and not expecting anything but good clean contact.

I hear you but as a 29 y/o 8 hcp I can assure you I am not a slow swing speed player. The high speed thing doesn't add up as these shafts, especially in tour spec, will probably play as stout, if not more than most others at a similar flex.

Below are the specs from the site.

For your situation 115 stiff is probably a great play OR 95 tour spec stiff is right in the middle and will be probably a bit more stout without giving up club head speed for you I'd imagine

Thanks for the info, I have been reading everything I can find about them and my plan is to start off Soft stepping it once and see how that feels, Then if needed I can SS x 2 or if the flex feels soft just tip it some more and use it for the 9 iron, since I build my own stuff it is pretty easy with .370 shafts.

Or even if it feels way too heavy and stiff I can use it (the 115) in a wedge and order the 95 for the rest of the set. But I think it may be OK, I played paderson 95 (which is 99) in Stiff SSx1 and they play pretty darn stout imo.

I like the fact they maintain weight even with the tipping (if I read that correctly). So hitting the SW should not require a lot of tip weighting.

My hope is better contact will balance out the loss of a bit of SS by going a bit heavier, not hitting the ball solid is hurting me more than any distance issue. If I stay in my comfort zone of 61-6,300 yds  my Driver keeps me in pretty good position to attack, IF I am making good iron contact.

Sounds like a great plan to me! Keep me posted how it works out.

I'd love to build my own. These will likely get pulled from my current heads next season and be slotted into either mizuno forged or srixon 7/5 combos.

I’m 40 and irons are what keeps me from being better.  I’m a 7 HCP and flat out miss too many greens.  I’ve been in graphite for awhile now and will never go back.  Had to switch to steelfibers a few years ago because of tendinitis and (played Xcaliber shafts just before the SF) and went recoils for my 921F.  I only hit a 7i 155-160.  Def, no 185-200 here.

I ordered the Nippons all the while expecting to change back to graphite, I was not impressed with the Callaway Graphite shaft choices and hate Recoils. I have tried them several times trying to make them work in different weights and flex and they just feel awful to me.

Ha ha we can be honest among friends here, I know it's me and my old man swing not the shafts or the heads making me play bad.

But if I could not tinker and try different things hoping something will click and magic will happen (like with the Max LS Driver combo) I would have to quit and buy a boat.

I think it may be more the stigma of Graphite than the ability of it to hold up to any swing, 8-10 years ago it was true they were just for old people for the most part, but these new Shafts can do it all and they are getting the weights up there pretty darn high if that is what you need.

Funny this thread just came back up. I just put together a Titleist U510 3 Iron with a Pro 115X shaft. I didn't tip it, so basically soft stepped it once since they are 2 iron blanks and tapered it by hand to get the fit right. Playing it at standard 3 Iron length (39") which is 1/4" short of standard for the U510. So far only one range session and I was definitely rusty after a long layoff...but first impressions are good! Solid ball flight and felt great! I play X100 soft stepped once in my irons and what I've read suggests that this will be a good fit for the driving/utility iron!
