Cotton Poly Blend Polos..?

Linksoul. Best cotton-poly blend I've found. Very business casual appropriate if your office allows polo shirts.

The Under Armour Charged Cotton is another option. Not quite as dressy as the Linksoul, but very comfy. I believe TM also has a couple.

Having said that, if I could afford it I would have Lululemon polos in the closet. I can typically find Linksoul for about half the price of Lulu, but the Lulu Evolution polo shirt is phenomenal.

Best blends by far will be Peter Millar.

They make a few different knits (pique, loose knot, traditional 'cotton' weave, etc) but they are all phenomenal.

I suggest Nordstrom sales as a physical retailer.

I usually end up spending ~$35 per shirt, retail is usually around $100 (which given the competition and its pricing is worth it)

Totally disagree 100% cotton isn't suitable.

Linksoul 100% cotton (now all I can find is the "knit" which I don't like) is/was very lightweight. Criquet 100% cotton are great.

Way too broad of a statement.

Well it really depends on where you live. 100% cotton is not suitable in the summer months where I live.

And I have 5-6 cotton Linksoul shirts. Love them. Wear them to work all the time. But can’t golf in the summer in them.

Try the Linksoul Drytech or Performance blend models. Agree that the 100% cotton versions can be like wearing glue on high humidity days, but I love the Drytech shirts that I have. I get a lot of the wicking of a polyester shirt, but with a cotton softness.

Not as slim as RLX or the slim fit versions of Nike or Adidas shirts. But also not baggy by any means. I wear a Large and am 6'4, 185 lbs. Their size chart for shirts and layers is pretty accurate. Their waist measurements on their pants and shorts has seemed to be a bit more variable over the years and I sometimes have to visit a tailor to adjust. But overall great products if you like that style.

Play in 90 degree plus weather and high humidity for a good part of the summer.

Don't wear the heavier pique polos, and no doubt the performance stuff is drier throughout the round and dries more quickly, but there are good lightweight/thin cotton shirts out there. May show a little sweat but they don't cling and are plenty loose fitting for comfort.

Obviously not everyone agrees on fabrics, but don't like to see cotton rejected out of hand!

Because nobody would ever recommend... Greg Norman Collection - Forward Series. Poly performance shirt with 12% cotton and a good bit of stretch for comfort. Feels like the comfort cotton but the performance of poly. Great shirts on or off the course with tailored collars.

Those are pretty nice. Saw one a few weeks back.

Thanks for this suggestion. Just ordered 6 shirts from the UK website in the sale. £32 each. If no good then its free returns... everyone a winner..!!

Keep the suggestions coming...

Out of the 6 I purchased I only kept 1. The sizing comes up big and the performance fit is not very slim at all. The tour fit is perfect and the quality of the Polos is top class.

Another brand I’ve found is Dunning. Their natural polo is 20% cotton 40% poly and 40% coolmax... these look amazing and have 2 on order...

Great thread with lots of great options

Ok are there any reasonably priced cotton poly polos out there? Uniqlo about it?

For those in the US, I'd recommend taking a look at Target, in addition to Uniqlo.

Ewww, those shirts look, well . . . weird, and the main model with the hair is making me uncomfortable.

  • 2 weeks later...

TGW has some Cotton/Poly blends in a couple of Ashworth make short sleeve polos that are about 50/50 blend. In addition to golf, I wear these shirts also to work. They are comfortable for me in low humidity days up to about 85 deg F. In anything above 60% humidity and/or 85 deg F, I sweat more than the shirt can transpire/evaporate away and they become soaked and stick to me as the cotton fiber really absorb and hold the moisture. When they are on clearance, they are a good deal at about $11 -16/ea.
