What shot strikes fear into your playing partners?

Any sort of half wedge when my playing partner is standing 45° to my right! :swoon:

I resemble this remark. In fairness, I do say "I wouldn't stand there if I were you....just in case."

I play Stableford with one of my regular playing partners. Nothing is more intimidating than the 1-putt make when you are way outside your opponent. Good luck making that putt when you know the best you can hope for is a tie on the hole.

Playing a match in my league last week. My opponent and I are the low caps of the league. He can be a birdie machine, but once he hits a bad shot, he can lose it for a couple of holes.

On the 3rd hole, par 3, I drain about a 40 footer for birdie, he goes and makes a 15' on top of me.

Fist bump, neither of our putts phased each other. In fact, I just knew he wouldn't miss his, he's so solid inside 20 feet. Would love to know his make % from 10-15 feet, I bet it's close to pro average.

Anything from 90 to 170 yards to a left pin That is level or below me (Not as good on uphill shots as I prefer a low trap-draw)

When conditions are good I hit a lot of shots close to left pins.

Its got to be my 3W. I'm a fairly long hitter and most people concede that I'm going to be 30-50 yards longer with the driver than they are. What they don't get over is when I'm outdriving them (generally not "short hitters" themselves) by 10-20 yards all day with my 3W off the tee (I'm conservative off the tee and hit it a lot).

I've had many comments made on back 9's about "that damn 3 wood"... LOL! It's normally uber reliable and has a piercing flight with a tiny draw... I can hear groans from other guys when I make good contact. HAHAHAAAHAHA!!!

My 3W won me a $20 Nassau today! It wore down the guy I was playing against. On 16 tee box he had had enough and finally started talking trash about it... "do you EVER miss with that damned 3W? Jesus it's annoying!". That's what he said right before I teed off.... then I smashed one about 260 up thecenter of the fairway! He was trying to play head games.... lol. He then proceeds to hit his 3W OB....

It was over after that.... I gave him another look at it on 17 tee (smashed down the middle again) just for the hell of it (it was a par 5 I could have hit driver on, but I wanted to rub it in).

It was epic.... hahahahaha

In a match play to make up and down from a greenside bunker or or chipping it in. Good short game and par saves around the greens have demoralising effect to your opponents, if they think they already got the whole after your missed approach shot. Another good way to get inside your opponents heads is to outhit their driver off the tee with your 2-iron. Also if you bomb couple of drives 50 yards past them in the first holes, some egos just can't take it. Then enjoy watching them trying to muscle out drives during rest of the round, messing up their natural swing tempo and rythm, and finding everything else except fairways.

I would like to say a bomb drive to the perfect approach position and well pat my playing partners, but that literally is only true in my dreams.

In the real world, it’s wedge around the greens. For me it’s an extension of my putting. I will definitely get it close and I will sometimes get it into hole.

I’m not long but I’m straight off the tee. Hitting first on a super tight fairway in a money match is a great advantage, but no one I ever played with is intimidated of my game
